I need a new knife... and im in a rut.. cant decide.

HEY GUYS...

Im kind of in a rut.. I want something new. I'll be stateside next week and this will make it relatively easy.

Objectives: 3" max, button lock preferred, wood wood wood (or some fancy inlays not carbon fibre.. shits plastic) and TI. No pocket clip or at the very least no clip screw holes on show side.

budget is lets say capped at $1000. I dont care if its a sub 100 dollar knife either!

oh and no Mnandi's, I have two.

Thanks!
Matt

Too many narrow requirements.

Not too many wood handled button lock folders under 3" that I'm aware of but, for $1k, I'm sure someone can make you a custom to your specifications.

The other options is buy a stock Pro-Tech TR2 (or another button lock that meets your requirements) and see if someone offers custom woods scales. You can always just remove the pocket clip.

I've bought aftermarket scales once. I'm not up to date on availability or where to go.

Get a BUCK CUSTOM of your dreams. Any and all production knives can always be had, maybe at a huge price increase. They will still be available in some form or fasion when/if you decide to get one. When will Buck stop offering customs?? Tomorow? next year? Never?? why take that chance? Resale value will only increase also. Good luck

The only one that came to mind for me that checks all those boxes was the one that spurred this search for you haha the rockstead Nehan. For others with similar features, and check most of the boxes check out: Fallkniven tre kronor #3 (tk3), Mcusta Tactility with ironwood, or Masserin Atti 389. The only requirement these don't meet is the button lock, but as has been established the Nehan may be the only production knife that has that as well as the other specs, but it's 2.5x your max price.

Picked up this awesome Pena Xseries Apache off the exchange. Thanks wickettedge wickettedge

I feel kinda dirty liking the front flipper....

What is this: "I need a new knife" thing?
Who ever said that they could only arrive in a one at a time fashion?

badmatt badmatt Hmmm, you're the one with the Arno Bernard Imamba aren't you? I seem to remember it being you. I was going to recommend it because he just made a rare run and yesterday when I looked there were 5 left. Seems like a real good knife according to the description you put. But if you do have one then disregard haha.

Knife Roulette. Randomly scroll w/eyes closed on fav knife dealers site. Click when you are feeling lucky!

I understand that you'd prefer something from a brick and mortar shop during your trip, but if you don't mind ordering from EU and waiting a bit, here is the Viper Hug 2 with poplar burl and titanium. The poplar burl configuration is a knivesandtools (based in Holland) exclusive. You can check the no clip and the fancy wood boxes but length is 3.15" and it's a slipjoint.
