I need a new knife

I have had my paramilitary 2 for almost a year now, and I love it to death. Made it 'mine' with a new low ride pocket clip (thanks to theoriginalspaceman) and a lanyard. Everything is perfect about it, but I get bored easily, partial reason to why I own 20+ knives.

So what I am looking for is something that is similar to the paramilitary 2, but different. I previously had a ZT0350 but found it was too big/wide of a knife for my front pocket. When I bought my para, it was between it or a benchmade 940, and I still like the 940 but am not the biggest fan of smooth metal handles, as I wear gloves constantly at my job. I feel like I wouldnt get the best grip. However, Im open to all ideas, with a similar price point as the para.

If you're that enamored with the PM2; just start saving your pennies for the CFM4 version.
Waiting not an option, and you want something similar to a PM2 (but different) now? Grab a Military.
Boring suggestion, I know...but you probably wouldn't like my other recommendations.

Benchmade 710? It's a little bigger than a PMII but it's sleeker and takes up less space in the pocket. Also it's got G10 handles so it'll be grippier than a 940, perfect for use with gloves.

Not bad looking, definitely consider it. The tough part for me is that I have no where local to handle knives like these. I know of a shop that has a limited collection of benchmade knives, but anything else Im buying based strictly off of extensive user reviews.

Thats true for me too. Most of the knives I buy I get online and don't get to handle them until they arrive in the mail. I just had to accept that sometimes I'll have to re-sell a knife that I don't like. That happened with the Spyderco Gayle Bradley. It's a solid knife, with excellent material and build quality. But it was too big and chunky for my liking. I couldn't tell from pictures and videos but as soon as I held it I knew it wasn't for me.

You might take a look at an Al Mar SERE 2000, just a bit more than a pm2, but a Very solid knife. I've been seriously impressed by mine..

Like I said, Im open to all suggestions, so have at it.

If the ZT 0350 was too bulky for you, there's not much point. About the closest we might come to common ground is a Benchmade 581 or 950...and they're both around $50 over the PM2's price (depending on where you shop).

Buck 830 Marksman is solid, fun and novel, H&K 14715 gets you an inexpensive Axis folder with good steel, Manix 2 Lightweight in S110V if you want a huge steel upgrade, Kershaw Launch 1 is a really nice, slim auto if you can carry one, Cold Steel has the new American Lawman or Code 4 both in XHP and both with the Triad lock.

One word : "Southard"

This is the one (Southard) that kicked my beloved Paramilitary 2 out of the pocket.

You win all the style points...that's for sure! I believe Barman1 has a canvas scaled one that is pretty slick as well.

Another vote for the Military.

I got my PM2 before my Military. Both are great knives. But , like you, I wear gloves at work. The Military is perfect for gloved hands.

It (Military) is my true every day carry. When not a work it gets moved to back pocket or IWB and a smaller knife takes it's place in my front pocket.

The Military is such a fantastic knife. But it may be too similar for a super neato change up? The new ZT 0808 looks like a seriously promising knife. Of course, and as always, if you see a good priced used Sebenza in the exchange go for that above all else because you don't lose money on a used Seb if you don't like and it's a knife any knife person should experience.
