I need a new knife

I would vote a Military or for a change of pace, BM 710-1401 for the steel or an 810 in either M4 or M390. Possibly even a FPx Hest or wait for a Heft.

I think you should take a look at this Kizer - screams quality and its in your price range:

I have had my paramilitary 2 for almost a year now, and I love it to death. Made it 'mine' with a new low ride pocket clip (thanks to theoriginalspaceman) and a lanyard. Everything is perfect about it, but I get bored easily, partial reason to why I own 20+ knives.

So what I am looking for is something that is similar to the paramilitary 2, but different. I previously had a ZT0350 but found it was too big/wide of a knife for my front pocket. When I bought my para, it was between it or a benchmade 940, and I still like the 940 but am not the biggest fan of smooth metal handles, as I wear gloves constantly at my job. I feel like I wouldnt get the best grip. However, Im open to all ideas, with a similar price point as the para.

Funny, I had it down to the same 2 knives, PM2 and BM 940. I went the other way and got the 940. The handle isn't as slick as you would think, and as long as you can operate the Axis lock with them on, gloves are a non issue with it. I did get the PM2 for my very next knife and I do like it, but the 940 still gets more pocket time. If you want easy operation with gloves, Emerson is where I would go. Horseman or a mini CQC7. I am really interested in the new Benchmade 808 Loco. Looks like a comfortable grip with a usable blade.

The new ZT 0808 looks like a seriously promising knife.
The 0808 is great. I had suggested it in one of my earlier posts...but removed it because the OP had already stated he doesn't care for smooth metal handles, and expressed that he wanted to stay in the PM2 price. That's why I didn't mention the 0801BW, which I like even more than the 0808.

I forgot how active bladeforums is, 2 pages of replies over the course of one night! I see everyone requesting the Military, but I cant justify spending money on what I see is just a bigger version of the same knife, with a different locking mechanism. Ive always been a fan of benchmade, but havent owned one yet, so will definitely look up the suggestions.

The ZT801 would be one of the few suggestions I would consider with metal handles. That was the close third choice with my original knife battle, but at the time it was still priced higher than the para and 940, used anyways. I have always been a fan of the idea of kvt bearing flippers, I left spring assisted flippers because it was annoying to close with one hand.

As for autos, I have heard/read many things about them not being good EDC's. I am a fan of the new Launch 1, but would be leary to buy it for every day use.

From my understanding, I cannot sell/trade knives on bladeforums without a paid membership right?

Ive also done a little research into the DPx hest knives, and know only a little about the Kizer knives. Doesnt mean they arent contenders though, Ill just have to look into them more.

Two good options for work knives in your price range would be the Manix2 ,g10 with s 30v and the Ritter Griptilian with m390. Try the Ritter.
