"PSK2?"
Bryan Breeden makes a PSKKII (two "Ks").
Is that the one or something else?

Bryan Breeden
O1, 3/32" thick, 4" blade, Orange G10 handle.
Sweet, light and sturdy little cutter. I reviewed it a while back with pics of what I did with it. It was considerably under a c-note w/o sheath.
I made leather and Kydex neckers for mine.

It's a very handy little knife and stands up to tougher tasks than you might expect just looking at it.

I didn't know that I needed one of these until just a few minutes ago. It's a great looking knife and the review was impressive.
Jeff H - do you offer the kydex sheaths for sale?

Jeff H, that kydex sheath looks fantastic. I really like the way you integrated the firesteel.

I do but the opening will be slightly different. Thanks.

Thanks. It will retain the firesteel years from now, even after I have worn it down a bit:D

I have several of Bryan's knives and a few more on the way. I have also used his Kelly knife and his wife Kathy's Kat knife. I have liked them all.

What is the price for the kydex neck sheath? I plan to order a PSKK this week. Do you need the knife to make the sheath? If so can I just have Bryan send it to you directly?
Thanks,
William

Jeff, that sheath is great! I like the firesteel intrigation. Something differant than the normal loop you always see. Good one!

Thanks JW. It serves two purposes; 1) you can slip the entire thing between two buttons on a shirt or jacket, whereas the loop on the side of the sheath would make the "package" too wide, and 2) it will still retain the firesteel loop after you have worn it down some. I have at least one LMF Army model that is somewhat smaller in diameter than it was when I started and, I imagine, with continued use, they will continue to get smaller and the formed loop may eventually be too big. Now, not to alarm anyone, as it takes considerable use to reduce the diameter significantly. When I make a regular loop, I curl it in a bit so that it will continue to hold the firesteel for a long time but, if you ever whittle it down to 1/4", it's going to be loose.

Funny thing about the PSKKII, I put almost all of my fixed blade knives in a box and let my best friend, who I am getting started with his own bit of kit, grub through them on the way to a day-trip hike and asked him to pick out what he felt would be the best one to get stuck in the woods with. My intention was to make a gift of the one he picked and he picked the PSKKII. I have to tell you that he had some pretty cpabale knives to choose from. I quit breathing when he pulled out my Muskrat Man Bushcraft and the PSKKII and compared them for a long time before offering his evaluation.

He picked the PSKKII. I was certain he would have picked something else and was waiting on a response from a fellow forum-member as to whether he would be interested in mine. I was so confident that he would have picked one of the two I designed:o that I felt safe including the PSKKII in the selection. Guess I don't know so much after all!:D

PM me.
I would need the knife but you can have Bryan send it directly to me and save some $ on postage. Being a custom knife, they vary from one to the next enough that I would not be happy with the fit/function if I wrapped mine and expected yours to fit.

Thanks.

Jeff

For some reason I can't pm you. I will place the order with Bryan this week and then have the knife sent to you.
Thanks,
William

Jeff,

Wow! Nice job on that kydex rig!

Bryan, as usual, amazing looking. So many knives, so little cash...

Fishiker - I'll try from my end.

Brian, Thanks. I am always messing with new ideas - not just for the sake of "new" or for the "look." I have been thinking about doing that kind of "loop" in the lighter .060" Black on the .080" Gray. There's some serious retention in that one and I have to play with them to get them to "give it up" when the rod is needed. Now, for a way to attach some tinder so that it stays dry and doesn't add bulk........

I second that...I had no idea that I needed another knife until about 30 seconds ago...

I'm telling you all right now - you're all heading down a slippery slope:eek:. Bryan has a number of cool "little" blades and I have at least three more I want, one of which is another of these, but the original 3" version. I see he is offering a convexed edge now and, from what I can see in the photos, it looks good. With his flat grind/blade thickness/blade height combinations, you get as stout a blade as you can have that really cuts. I added a convex grind to each of my own "Breedens" and even my taller, thicker Pathfinder is a great cutter.
