i need a survival knife

If you are flexible with the blade shape, I would recommend a CRKT Graham Razel SS7. It has a nice big blade designed for chopping, serrations for sawing, and theres a bottle opener at the butt :D. Its also within your pricerange at $134.95 at AG Russel Knives.

A cable saw (the wire thingies with finger or stick loops at both ends) coiled up in pocket or a pouch (check out Maxpedition belt pouches) along with the Bic lighter or waterproof matches, and a metal fire stick, a rescue blanket and some halozone tabs and one of those new small AAA LED flashlights, and any old 4 to 6 inch $30 to $60 (second hand is okay and sometimes cheaper too) decent hunting knife (Buck, Schrade, Ka-bar, Case, etc.) and a canteen full of water and all your wishes are met for a heck of a lot less money. If you feel you absolutely (for whatever reason) have to chop with a knife, get an 8" blade with a full tang such as the big RATS, but understand you will still want the smaller knife for more normal slicing tasks. Otherwise, bring the hatchet.

Here is my suggestion:
Fallkniven F1, Bahco Laplander, Leatherman multitool

You could get an S1 instead of the F1 since you have a small knife on the LM Fuse.
There is no problem cutting a 6" tree with a 4" knife. You just pound the knife into the tree like a chisel, wiggle it out, move an inch an repeat until the tree comes down. That is why the F1, S1, A1 etc have the tang coming out in the back.
I am allergic to people with sword like knives. A folding saw is much safer, quicker and easier to use. One other thing is that a 3"-4" knife is small enough to be carried everywhere, everytime and sheeple enough not to scare locals.

Buy the Schrade Pathfinder for chopping chores

and the RAT RC-3

for everything else. Brigade Quartermasters has both, and the RAT is the one made by Jeff Randall and Mike Perrin of Randall's Adventure & Training, not the Onterio version. With shipping you should be right at your target price.

I would go for the Bravo-1 as some have suggested. Another good option is a Fallkniven F1

The RC-3 or 4 would also be spectacular--and much better choice than something so long.
