I need advice.

Whichever you like best, will be the right choice and in due time, you'll get another one.

21 lg. is the classic break you in CRK ….. Everything else on your list is just as "good" just different…. The Insingo will not let you down… so whatever you choose, you win! All that being said the UM is the most aggressive. Bart

If i were you, i would buy a used CRK from a reputable BF member. If the knife is a few months old and has a few scuff marks on the titanium, and hasnt been sharpened...its fine. I consider that description basically new.

21, umnumzaan or a 25..theyre ALL great knives...even the older models. You might as just buy "one of the above", cause youll eventually get all of em sooner or later.

So I ended up buying through the exchange...

Got an old pivot startac. In very very good shape. So I'm pretty stoked.

And yea I don't even have it and I'm contemplating how I can also get a small 21 insingo.

Dear god what have I gotten myself into.

Great, very good choice. Make sure to post pics when you get it

So now for more advice. What do I do while I wait? I sold my knives o fund this so I'm between blades literally. Lol

lol, I was fortunate not to be in that situation

I sold off pretty much my entire knife collection recently, some on this site, but most on another site. I kept one, my Spyderco Dragonfly2. All that money went to funding a Lg Seb 21 with Micarta, Strider SnG, Hinderer XM-18, and a Seb 25 (two of these were bought from the Exchange here). I have a total of five knives now and much happier with this collection. (Still need an Umnumzaan.....:D)

Yea well with those five I understand feeling a sense of satisfaction. I'm paring down to 2 fixed blades two folders(I'm lying to myself) and a small Axe/hawk.

I actually feel kind of anxious(read anxiety) without a folder in my pocket. Lol

I feel the Large 21 spear point is the defacto CRK. I am not sure it is my favourite anymore (I am starting to favour smaller knives), but I do not regret it being my gateway to the other CRK models that I now own, and still carry it often. I feel the Large 21 SP provides a good foundation to start with as it is a good point of comparison to the rest of the line-up. You may love it, but if you don't you'll have a good idea what to trade it for or where to go next.

If it's too plain, get a decorated. If it's too safe looking, get an Umnumzaan. If you like a heavier knife get a 25. If it's too big, get a small. If you think you'd prefer a lower tip profile, get an insingo, and so on and so on.

I'd start with the large 21, and if you can afford it, the micarta is nice, but so is the plain. I have a tough time deciding between those.

Is the R on that curved? supposedly one of the tell tale signs is a curved r? im just curious

…..what have I gotten myself into.

You have gotten into some of the finest EDC knives in the world with lots of options for more purchases. The options are nearly endless and therefore so is the amount of cash you could spend. If you only had a dollar for everyone here that said they were getting just one who ended up with more than one CRK you'd have enough for the small Insingo.

Congrats, now you'll be looking for every odd thing you can find in the house to sell off to feed your new addiction.

So much truth. Less than 24 hours til I get my first CRK. And I'm already saving and selling for my second.

I've owned a mnandi, large plain 21 insingo, small micarta 21 insingo, a unique graphic 21, and a just received yesterday small plain 21 insingo. I sold off all but the 2 small 21 insingos. The large was just too big for a folder for me (I would rather have a fixed blade in a larger blade length), the mnandi was beautiful but not 1 hand operable for me, the small unique was nice, but the shine of the polished titanium made me not want to carry it, and I USE all of my knives so it wasn't worth holding onto.

For your first one either a plane jane Large 21 or a large with a graphic. I haven't heard of too many that can only buy one. A graphic will always be special. I plane jane is the ultimate I think

Got umnumnum yesterday. Its a beauty. Boy oh boy did I underestimate it. Oh and its a startac. Those starburst scales are just wow...

And no I will not be satisfied with one crk.

My personal favoite is the large 21 Micarta. I Have the Large 21 Micarta Insingo and it's also nice (and much easier to sharpen for me) than the standard blade, but if you're at sharpening, regular blade, but either is nice!
