Well, the only blade I own with micarta slabs is the FFBM with standard scales.
Micarta feels 'softer' and more forgiving on the hands than the G-10 does (this could be due to the standard scales on my FFBM with less intense grooves than the magnum scales on the NMSFNO).
The G-10 is a little more slick; whereas the Micarta has a slightly tacky or sticky feel to it. G-10 has a very hard, plastic-y feel to it. I absolutely love the color of the G-10 Black/Tan, and I am a fan of both materials.
Oh I'm not arguing with that. I'm a newb when it comes to fixed blades and want some confirmation that I'm not the only dork around buying it for the coolness factor.
Of course now that I've decided to get one comes the harder choices, which color combo, which sheath, etc...
Kind of leaning towards the simple black/black with a cool D Guard like P-Easy has, maybe in international orange.. Or maybe a subdued Tan/Sage combo, so many choices (and no please don't tell me to get more then one).
