For a really cheap real good hands free light go to WAL-MART.They sell Energizer LED headlamps on a headband back around sporting goods.The light runs on 3 AAA batteries that are included.I use these lights when I explore caves and they hold up fine.They will run for about 13+ hours on a set batteries.The price is $11.00+-

3-LED Headlight ~$10 (the first and original)
6-LED Headlight ~$15
1 watt LED Headlight ($?)

Is yours the 3 LED version?

I really liked that 3 LED version, and have two of them -

Tuesday, I ordered a Luma Power "IncinDio". It's a 1 cr123 powered Cree l.e.d. with three levels.
