I need help! Buck knife 102 U

I came across a Buck knife with the printing on the side:
BUCK
102 U
U.S.A.

On ebay someone was selling the same exact looking knife but he stated his had a "T" where mine has the "U".

What is the difference? Is one more rare than the other?

ALSO: Can anyone tell me what year this was made?

The “U” and “T” are year codes.

“U” is 1998
“T” is 2003

The year codes are in a sticky on the Buck knives sub forum. That’s were all the Buck people and they are more up on all things Buck.
