Well gary jp4, I'm not cj65 but:
You can fine tune your angles. If you loosen the nut holding the guide rod to the stone. You can then:
A) move the stone closer to the end of the rod(up) to increase the angle. or
B) move the stone closer to the corner of the rod(down) to decrease the angle.

In that case the advice changes a little to consider changing the angle to match the existing one on the knife and get on to sharpening the edge and making a burr faster. That is if you accept the existing angle.
