I received an Odyssey model 186 as a gift from my kid brother which has alot of sentimental value to me, however, when closed, the blade leans towards the side of the handle and when I open it, it brushes up against the liner. Is there any way to correct this without having to send it back to the folks at Buck?

El Cid, I think that they're actually made that way. I have three of them and they are all like that. I sent my first one back to Buck and they sent me a new one and it was the same way. I've seen a few blade bending techniques on the forums, but I would not exactly recomend them. Alex

I would have thought their QC would catch this before the knives leave the factory. That's not too cool. Well, I guess I'll figure something out.

I just received my 186 back from the same problem.they replaced the blade.
If the knife has sentimental value, note it when you send it in.Buck is very good about personal value.re:qc,ive been in walmarts in 5 different states and fond the same problem in every one i looked at.Good knife, definatly worth fixing.
