I would just be concerned that the parts might not fit together like they would in a knife already built. Don't get frustrated if it doesn't go smoothly.
I am in no hurry, will take my time.

Steven, I made a quick little video for you. Couldn't say anything since I was doing it undercover so to speak
I'll just do a little explaining here. First, before you do anything make sure your holes are lined up. When you have the knife snapped together, pivot the springs away and slide a pin through the center holes in all three scales, it should go through quite easily without getting hung up. If all goes well, you should be able to get the knife together no problem. Make sure your pin has a nicely tapered point, and make the point long, not stubby. this will help it to center itself. In the video, I have a piece of leather attached to the vise to protect the front edge of the knife. The strip you see in my hand is another thick piece of leather that is cut no wider than the width of the two springs in the knife. This way it'll fit against the springs without pressing against the two outside covers. If it were wider you'd risk cracking the covers. With the leather sandwiched against the springs, I just squeeze it in the vise, you'll see the springs compress, and the center hole should become aligned with the spring holes. I use a hardened steel pin, pressing it into the hole while I turn the vise until it slides through, but you can do the same with you pin. You shouldn't have to really hammer the pin through, it should go through with just a few taps.

Great job on the assembly!
Eric
They look great!
JD, making a UH trapper into a single blade knife requires a bit of work. First you have to disassemble the knife, then cut the head of the blade pin off so that you can separate the blades. You'd then have to drill the bolsters and reassemble with standard pins. That's a fairly large pin, I think it may be a .101 or .125. Could be .093 too but I'm pretty certain it's larger than that.
