Well its been a crazy 2 months. I've been working a full time and a part time job.

Why?

For knives.

It's beyond obsession. I need help

I take all my extra cash and spend it on knives

Just bought a Bravo 1

When will it end.

No reason to end it as long as you control it and it does not control you.

I went through a phase like that in highschool, i was blowing all my job money on knives. Which was ok when i didnt have a serious need for it but now I cant be so extravagant. I think after a while you will narrow in on what you want in knives, took me like three years of trying a crap-load of knives before i found what really made me happy in them. Now I have like 6 quality folders that i edc, and im pretty content. My fixed blades on the other hand....

Just ask yourself if u really need it, and maybe give each knife a month waiting period before you decide to buy it. I know that for myself, after a month if its something i really, really want I'll still be obsessing about it.

You might tend to be obsessive compulsive, I do. But as my mother used to say with whatever I was obsessing, "You want me to boil that and feed it to you?"

But she was very controlling. I still remember when she was driving and I was just sitting quietly in the back seat. I was just starting to say something when she shushed me and told me that I'm not to speak. At first, I just sat there silent but it stung. I thought to myself, "She can't just tell me to keep quiet. I'm grown up, I finished college, I'm even already married. Only my wife can tell me to shut up."

"maybe give each knife a month waiting period before you decide to buy it."

I cannot do that, since I buy just about all of my knives right here on the Exchange. I couldn't afford an extra 30% in order to have a "brand-new" one instead of the LNIB or the ANIB that I can buy right here.
There are a few NIB that I buy from knife-shops...some special ones, but not very many. These are ones I try to hang on to, whereas the others come and go rather quickly.

I love this hobby, but it can easily get away from you, and the interest on loans can eat you alive.
Be careful; rule your hobby...don't let it rule you...

When I look at my knives. I know I don't need them. I should be happy with just one. The worst part is, I'd work two full-time jobs just to buy more. Hahaha. I'm so tired.

It wont......
Edit: There is something about having a sharp piece of steel in our hands. Some are happy with a few...some need hundreds. I was like you in the beginning. Now years later I have scaled it down to just a handful of blades that stir my soul when I handle/look at them. Don't get me wrong.....there are still blades out there that make me hard, but I just cant pull the trigger. Also....my knives are safe queens. I don't have any users. My fun/enjoyment comes from admiring/handling them. Aside from some truly custom knives it is a hobby that pretty much anyone can afford. That's why I feel it is so addicting. Enjoy the knife hobby....just don't let it control you, and or put you in debt.
