i need help !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

find a hobby of hers and ask her how she would feel if she couldnt do it anymore.

unless you've already tried that, in that case your screwed!

Pick a number - say 6 - and thats the maximum number of knives you will own.

Then sell / trade if you have the desire to get new ones.

That process of deciding which ones you need to get rid of for the new one will be eye opening - you will see which ones you really like and don't like.

Out of all the knives I have owned - there are only a select few that I carry regularly - the others never seem to get pocket time.

The other thing to do is keep a cheat sheet of things you like in a knife, and put all new purchases thru these tests before pulling the trigger.

In other words - refine your hobby.

i own 4 knives... large tanto sebenza, burger lexk, benchmade 860 bedlam, benchmade 805 tsek

just sell em and buy bigger ;)

I started collecting knives at 15. I started out with a cheap Gerber Paraframe and a few months I ended up with at least 2 knives from every production company out there. Yes, even the big shots like Strider and Emerson. I did it all through trading and selling on the fourms.

My advice would be to ignore what your mother says and if knives make you happy then continue on pursuing your hobby.

If you are using your own money to purchase these knives then your mother really cant tell you to stop.

Well, it depends on a lot of things....

How old are you? If you are 12 years old hiding them from your mom, then you can't stop her.
Are you mature enough? I know adults who I would not trust with a butter knife. Maybe if you show the maturity, then she might let you continue on with it.

If money is an issue, and she is the one who is buying them for you, get a job, mow some grass, or clean someone's basement. My kid is 14 years old, and he is making a pretty penny by doing odd jobs, on his own time. He mows the yard, helps fix the car, etc. With that, if you show that you are willing to work for them, then again, she might let you continue.

My two cents.

Vanguards got it right but to add to the money for odd jobs info you would be surprised how a $30 knife can become a $200 knife over time and adding a little cash to a trade deal. If you look at your next purchase as a mountain to climb (holy he'll I gotta save up $200 for the one I want!) Its going to be discouraging, but if you look at your collection and trade a $50 knife plus $20 cash you may just end up with a $80-90 knife, then repeat, then a few more lawns and poof before you know it the $200 knife is in your pocket for a few bucks and some good old america sweat. We all have knives we aren't using or outgrew because all of our collections started somewhere. Trim the fat, trade up, and you will be running with the big boys in no time.

Its all about timing and giving someone else what they're looking for. For example just this past week I traded an esee izula for a bark river bushbaby. Look it up its a hell of a deal. But both got what they wanted and everyones happy.

Trading is how I keep my wife at bay when she talks about my collection, may work on your mom as well. As long as she doesn't mind giving you the dough for shipping

Tell her, in these words. "Some of these companies may go out of business, which will make these knives very collective and therefore worth a good deal of money for my (College,Retirement,Car) fund, dont you want me to (go to college, be able to retire, have a car)?"

If that doesn't work, get a job.

hope this helped

money isnt a problem ive already tried most of that except for trading the problem is she doesnt understand the sickness and thinks that knives and fierearms as nothing but weapons and will not accept that they are tools not weapons she called my cold steel canadian belt knife a throwing knife for god's sake

Oooooooooo different story. Will she go camping? Take a bushcraft knife into the woods and show her how a medium sized knife can make camp life easy without lumbering an axe around. If your collecting "tactical" stuff then its gonna be a bit more difficult to explain since they are designed as weapons but you could always say one day zombies/chinese/Koreans/scientologists will attack and you need to be ready

Mom's are definitely like that. My Mom, had to warm up to it when I was younger. Like Clich said, If you have a collection of non-traditional looking items, then you are shit out of luck. You cannot push your Mother even further. By doing that, she'll keep saying no. Wait a few months, and ask her again if you can buy one. Or, catch her at a good time, such as if she is in a good mood. When I wanted to buy my first rifle, it took me a year. I asked her in September, she said no. I kept asking and asking, and she was annoyed. I waited until that next September, then asked again. She agreed, and I ended up with a good Russian surplus rifle.

Been spending all this time preparing for the zombie apocalypse that I completely forgot to worry about the scientologists

she wont go camping believe me ive tried to convince her to go but she wont and the only thing i have that i guess you could call tactical is a gerber fast draw

i am not allowed to contact my father right now

Sorry man, but you might have to face the fact that you might not be able to buy anymore. The best I can think of is put ONE reasonably priced knife on your Christmas list for next year. If not, wait until you are out of the house and are off to college.

i can get away with it sometimes by getting someone else to buy them for me but if those people catch on im screwed is there anyway to make her see sense
