Hey Guys. As many of you know, I wrote a rather long post about woods suitable and often used for making knives. I was hoping to update it with photos of both the blocks, and of knives with those woods. I have many of the woods, but not all. Because im hoping to avoid any legal issues even though I will not be making any money from it, here is what im asking for.

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/s...r-knife-handles-updated-for-total-of-70-woods!

Photos of wood I need "block/ scale for only"

Ziricote
Koa
Olivewood
Osage orange
Olivewood
Mango
Lacewood
Canary wood
Pau Ferro
Katalox
Gidgee
Lignium vitae
Dead finish
Ambonya
Thuya burl
Marble wood
Figured bubinga

Photos of knives with wood handles
All of them. Any wood you find on the list I would love photos that show a knife with a handle in that wood.

I'll include a list of everyone who donated photos to this.

If you would like advise on photographing woods well, post in this thread. If you have photos to donate, email me at bengreenberg415@gmail.com

Thanks!

sounds good

I can certainly help out with Koa, Gidgee and Amboyna :D

Have some Thuya as well - do you need Masur Birch?

I'll search through my pictures. I have lacewood, katalox, gidgee, mango and Koa. Do you have budgeroo on your list? Not well known and gorgeous.

I'll search for other pictures. Mango pic is a bit fuzzy. I'll find a better one.

I have some Olivewood and Osage (Bodark) that I can take tonight. I also have some spalted burl mango wood that I can take too even though it will look different than the regular mango.
Also, you have Olive wood on the list twice.

Lastly, I really like your wood breakdown. I use it all the time when looking at different woods to order. Thanks.

Budgeroo. It's hard to capture in a picture. It has a translucency like Karelian Birch. BTW, the cutting board is Wenge and zebano.
