• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Ok I just got the Wicked Edge yesterday, and I love it. I have the stones 50/80, 100/200, 400/600, 800/1000. I also have 1000 grit Sand paper, 1500 grit and 2000 grit.

So I have done 3 knives and I get a relatively clean semi-reflective edge, but I want to get the strops. My question is, Which strops should I get? I need strops that can go from 200 grit sand paper and bring me to a cleaner mirror edge. I am very confused and don't understand micron size. can some one also explain micron size and compare it to grit?

10 / 14 micron (800/1200 grit)
3.5 / 5 micron (4000/8000 grit)
.5 / 1 micron (15000/40000 grit)

Is this how the micron to grit work? 10 micron is comparable to 800 grit?

also, is there a knife mounting thread for the Wicked Edge? also does anyone have any tips for mounting knives (Spyderco Folders in particular)?

Get all of them. the 14um paste on strops (soft instead of hard like a stone) reacts completely different from 14um stones. 14um strops are enough (with some time spent) to erase ~2um scratches.

As far as clamping I would youtube it but you may want to look into Wicked Edge's new Gen III vise that is made specifically for ffg knives.
