Is this someones idea of a joke or what? It started a few days ago and I haven't been able to find out why.

Sincerely,
Adam

It looks like they banned your entire domain. If the admin can't ban a single user, they'll just say "screw it" and make the entire domain suffer to get rid of the abuse. I know, I'm on @Home, and there was a time where I was banned from all servers. I then found out there was a special server for us. It took me awhile to figure *that* one out.

Swball, I'm on @home too, what server do we use?

LD,

I don't think there's a specific server anymore. I just tried logging onto all the big networks (EFNET, Undernet, DALnet), and I'm not "banned" anymore, so it looks as though all's well.

I'm gettin the same message when I try to go to the bladeforums chat on mirc.

BTW it worked for me but took a few minutes and I am on a cable modem.

That happens now and then but it never lasts long. An abuser keeps changing identities every time he gets banned (k-lined) and sometimes you can't get hold of his system administrator right away, so there's no alternative but to ban the whole system until the system administrator responds.

In the unlikely event it lasts more than a day, hassle your system administrator.

Okay, here is the response I got from the E-mail address.

Your domain has been banned from DALnet due to the large amount of clones,
mass invites and mass messages. Your provider has shown that they have no
interest in working with us to solve this problem. Mass messages and
cloning and are strictly prohibited on DALnet.

We've sent numerous complaints to your provider, all to no avail. They
have to date refused to respond to any of our complaints regarding abuse.
Thus, you are no longer welcome on DALnet, and we urge you to contact
tosirc@aol.com to urge them to contact us to resolve this issue.

While we realize that not everyone from this domain is at fault, there was
no other effective way to handle this problem. As a result of this, we
have been forced into placing a permanent ban on your domain and IP class.
If you were not part of the problem, please accept our apologies for
having to take this drastic measure.

ADMINISTRATION: Please resend your message with the subject of HUMAN to bypass this
autoresponse message.

So it looks like other people desided to have some fun and IRC dropped us all.

Sincerely,
Adam

A lot of AOL users cause crap up there is why. Switch to a IRC server instead...

Hummm. Let me test a live chat inside the forum.

<applet CODEBASE="http://parachat.webpage.com/classes/" CODE="ParaChat.class" archive="pchat.zip" WIDTH="600" HEIGHT="350" align="center"><param name="ServerName" value="parachat.webpage.com"><param name="ServerPort" value="7779"><param name="Channel" value="#ABCDirect">Sorry, your browser is not Java enabled, you will not be able to chat.</applet>

If this works hop right into the chat room from here.

Looks like it works. Do not put any spaces in your name area and don't worry about filling out the other two fields.

We have no way of unbanning one single person or a group of people. For this
reason, the ban will stay in place until AOL.com administration contacts us
with alternative measures.
