I need some help.

I just watched the video eTexas linked. I found it interesting that the adhesive was just dabbed in a couple spots and not spread. Even under pressure I wouldn't have expected that little bit to cover the entire surface.
It wasn't covering the whole tang on both phenolic handled Bucks I've deal with so far, but it still seemed to be enough to get the job done.

Great thread!

Thanks for asking a question I didn't know I needed the answer to Hickory n steel Hickory n steel . :)

I'll definitely be referring to this thread soon. It'd be cool to have a consolidated thread of tips and tricks for working on/modding Buck knives.

Better yet, it would be nice to have dedicated sub-forum.

That would be pretty sweet. I know we have the Maintenance, Tinkering, & Embellishment forum, but stuff tends to get lost in the shuffle pretty quickly there, and I think Buck knives are modded often enough to justify their own sub. :)

Put it blade down in a padded vise. Then pry on it with two padded flat bars. It probably just needs steady pressure for a duration until the adhesive releases.

That probably what I'll do, I had a few things to do so I just didn't really try much to get it off.

Let us know how it works... I've been wanting to attempt a re-handle for awhile.
