I need some input on what Becker will strengthen my collection the most.

I live in the northern part of Norway, and I hunt, fish and hike a lot. I try to keep my blade collection as utilitarian as possible, each blade has its role, with little or no redundancy. After I bought The King, I understood how excellent blades the Beckers are. Now I really want a second one, but I'm not sure what to kick out of my collection. What would you add if you owned this set of knives:

Bk9, Helle Laplander Sami knife, Ka-Bar D2 extreme fighter, Brusletto Hunter, Griptillian, leatherman c33t and a CRKT minimalist

I would say a tweener like the BK15... or something like the BK14 would be an excellent addition.... or both!!!!

Nice collection!

I was thinking the BK-16 as well.

Or the BK-11 or BK-14/24 would be a great choice.

Thanks a lot for the input. I'm looking at the Bk16 now, but I have a soft spot for clip points. Is there any difference between the Bk16 and 17, apart from the pure aesthetics?

Blade shape is the same, just the 17 has the clip.

The Production 16 also has a full flat grind where the 17 has a saber grind.

Either one would be a good choice!

I'd say replace the kabar with the 17. Nothing against kabar, d2 is just a little harder to maintain in the field over 1095, other than that maybe take a look at the 14, that's replaced all my folders when I'm out in the bush.

A BK-5 plus any Tweener would be a good choice. Otherwise, it looks like you have most other bases covered.

Hang on. Wait a minute. Where's the crap is the BK-2?! You gotta have one of those! It's like a Beckerhead standard.;)

I'll be a bit of a contrarian and suggest a BK 5 or BK 15. Both are superb slicers and would be a nice and versatile addition to your collection.

A more Appropiate replacement for the KA-BAR is a 5 I think.

Honestly to me it looks more to me like you are missing a saw and a small mora.

If you like clip points then you should go bk17. same as bk16 just with clip point.
As far as the 16 being clip point I think there starting to make them saber grind cuz I just got mine a few weeks ago and mine is saber grind.

I say 14! For me the perfect combo is Brutus my King and sassafras my BK14. And yes I have dumb names for all my blades :D

I also suggest the BK-5/15 combo. You will find that you like them more than you can possibly think you would. The wife/gf/better half may like them as well.

16/17 would be my choice - 16 has the edge - both are great but 16 just takes it IMO
