I need some kickass slippers.

Thanks everyone for all the suggestions.

I ended up buying some Old Friend Men's Leather Fleeced-Lined Slippers I stumbled across while searching for some of the suggestions. Free shipping and less than $50. They are supposed to have arch support and they have a velcro flap for easy entry and snug fit.

Keeping looking, Rat! You're going to need more than one set. After all, there's that 'before' and 'after' Labor Day thing... :D

Rat, I don't have any suggestions for slippers but I can probably help with info about glucometers and other aspects of living with diabetes. Just watch your feet for signs of poor circulation and wounds that don't heal and go after those problems aggressively. Don't let anything go and assume it will take care of itself. Good luck and don't forget that there a number of us here on BF that have lots of experience with diabetes.

Ugs. The real thing though, not the immitations. Best thing goin' for comfort.

Thanks for the help

I have bookmarked the Uggs site for future reference/purchase. they look nice. I assume they have some arch support as well?

The sheepskin inside acts as arch support, but if you find that lacking you could always add some. If I spend all day in them, my arches start to collapse a little.

What's the "real thing" these days? My daughter has bought several pair of Uggs direct and they all say "Made in China". :( (Only my beloved Blundstones still say "Made in Australia". )

Heck, almost everything is "Made in China" these days.

Sad but true. Both of my kids are what my son calls "Label Wh*res". But check the "labels" on these "world famous" products: Coach Leather products from America ("Made in China"), Ugg Boots from Australia ("Made in China"), and Canadian jackets from Eddie Bauer ("Made in China"). And despite our best efforts to "Buy American!" or "Buy Canadian!" - it will only get worse. Guaranteed.

I got my Suede/sheepskin slippers today, and I have found a new level of comfort. These are pretty awesome. My feet do not sweat in them, not that I have sweaty feet. Makes me wish I had bought some years ago.
