I need some serious help!

I'll list you a number of options

-Hide it from her
-Accept her rule as she feeds you and provides a home for you
-Tell her that it was once held by King George IV of England
-Write her a pro's and con's list to owning a knife
-Sit down with her and politely explain to her how a fixed blade will benefit both you and her
-Buy the fixed blade and then stab her with it

I do not recommend any of these things, but I'm just pointing them out as options.

you can start by being reasonable about the 'why' . . . do you have a use for a fixed blade over a folding knife? ie: camping/ heavy use? the list goes on. there are plenty of uses for a fixed blade that CAN be achieved with folder (especially some of the overbuilt tanks like zt, demko, strider . . .) but usually a fixed blade of good ole 1095 is going to be 20% the price as folder of 'comparable strength'. so it makes more sense there. price point to type of usage ratio (does that make sense). if you want one just to have one, but dont really have any practical use for it, good luck . . . definately DO NOT tell her its better for stabbing people, I would hope that one is obvious though. if she doesnt want you to have one and thats just the way it is, you can always get something like a cold steel rajah II or cold steel spartan. folders of crazy strength and can be abused. plus they're bigger than half the fixed blades out there in the first place.

have fun with this one. I remember having to go through this quite a while ago . . . fun stuff

You can't. This reminds me of when I was 16 I asked my dad if I could get a motorcycle..... he said NO.

When I was 20 and got my first decent paying job I asked my dad if I could get a motorcycle.... he said NO.

Finally when I turned 22 I just went out and got a motorcycle.... didn't even let my parents know.

If your mom says NO.... then just wait. Sorry to break it to you kid, but life is full of disappointments and you have to learn to accept NO for an answer.

At 15, you're old enough to maintain a fixed blade and learn bushcraft. I took my first deer with a recurve bow at age 15. I knew how to put an edge on a knife and on broadheads. You can't learn those skills if you don't have a good knife to practice on.

Use your family's steak knives and/or butter knives for all your bushcrafting activities. When you ruin them all, explain that you need a nice fixed blade -- for the good of EVERYONE.

Why do you need a fixed blade? If it's just for fun or collecting, it'll be hard to convice your mother. Otherwise there's a really small chance she allows you to get one, since it sounds like she already has the answer "no" in her mind. Also, I think it would be wise to introduce her first to people friendly fixed blades, like Mora knives. They are affordable and have traditional looks (read: not tactical / military).

I used to have the same problem as you. I just shipped them to my friend's house, saved me money too cuz hes in the states. My mom never said I wasn't allowed knives but she disliked that I have so many of them. She doesn't complain when I use them to split wood for the bonfire or cut open coconuts tho. So a good idea would be to not make a big deal about it when you get it and just gradually let it be seen by her while you use it in a non intimidating way.

You probably already have a few, they're in your kitchen.....Start using those on the grounds that a folding knife is not the best tool for the job. After you ruin a few of those she might let you get your own.

How can i convince my mother to let get a fixed blade knife? I'm 15

You should bring up the subject infront of both your mother and father and explain your reasoning to them as to why you want a fixed blade and what you intend to do with it. Explain to them how such a tool would be of help when out camping, hiking etc.

Oh man, its sucks being young, dont it? My parents, esp dad, always prohibited knives, airguns etc from me... basically any sort of weapon. Its not that I've been irresponsible with them, but it was just his way. Then one day I turned 22 and started acquiring all these "weapons" again(despite all the previous tools me made me get rid of). In the end, no one can change who you are, not even you!

On a side note though, I always did have some sort of crappy fishing knife that I'd have in my tackle box. Could be an excuse for a decent fixed blade...

If you hunt, that would be a good excuse. I remember dad taking me to the store to let me buy one when i turned 10. I had to buy it but he let me!
