I've developed an expensive addiction and want to sell some of other knives to fuel it. I've never tried to sell a weapon on Ebay before. How does one go about mailing a knife to someone? I don't think I'll just be able to walk into a post office with large blades. Or can I? And is there any common Ebay knife selling dangers that I should avoid?

Thanks a million in advance.

Not the best place to ask for advice for selling knives on EBAY....

Would have been better to ask how to sell your knives here.

You can mail any knife as long as it's not an auto or gravity knife. Just make sure it is packed securely and there is no chance of the blade piercing the box.

Ebay requires delivery conformation on all purchases and signature is required on all items over $200 or $250, I forget which. All knives except Knuckle, Push daggers, Butterfly, and Auto/Gravity are sale able.

Becareful if you allow other countries to bid, because you have to play by their laws. If the knife seized, you're on the hook for a refund, even if the buyer takes responsibility for it.

After getting a Gold or better membership even. ;)
He's going to pay more in paypal and listing fees than that when it's all said and done.

Please don't discuss sales in the General Knife Discussion and don't discuss selling your own knives as a Registered User. You need at least a Gold membership to suggest an interest in that.

Mailing knives is easy. Pack the property at home and bring the box to the PO. They can only ask if the contents are hazardous. You don't have to tell the what it actually is. Of course, foreign sales require a customs statement which does require a description.

I have moved and closed this thread.
