If it's not too much trouble..

It's gonna be a rough next few days or so for me..
I have to say goodbye to my hiking and fishing buddy..

She's starting to have kidney failure, and having a real hard time walking... So it's time...

I can't let her suffer, I know that, but it's hard to let her go this way.. I'd have much rather seen her go in her sleep, dreaming of chasing a bunny through the yard or playing with our youngest cat.. Unfortunately that's not to be..

WHat I'd like to ask of you all is that, if you could... Light a few candles, say a few prayers, and send up some smoke to help guide her to her favorite steamside fishing spot to wait for her "daddy", and chase a few fish and bunnies while she waits..

I'd REALLY appreciate this..

Thanks,

Aaron(Tux)

Man my stomach feels in bits for you, I thought I was going to lose one of mine the other week and I went to pieces !
Smoke sent from our house, tell her she will have plenty of other great dogs to play with up there, four from my childhood for a start !!!!!

There's no way to get through this without suffering. Better you suffer the grief than she suffer the pain of a worn out body. One last goodbye, relief and regret, and keep the memories of a long and happy life.

Man I feel for you and your friend. There is nothing worse than having to say goodbye. Smoke and prayers sent from our home to yours.

Feel for ya, bud. I've had to do it a few times, and it never gets easier. Be happy you were a part of each others' lives, and remember the best of times. Smoke sent.

Tuxdad, that sucks. We all know it will happen but it always hurts when the time comes, especially since they are such good companions to us. I feel for you.

Will do. Be strong friend,do what you know has to be done. Don't be afraid to shed a tear. I cried like a little girl when I lost my last buddy.

It's not easy even when you know it's right. :(

Very sorry to hear it has come to this. Kat and I will be praying for you both.

I'm so so sorry for your loss, there's no truer friend you can have. But they love you with all they have for as long as they have, and you can make a great home for another good soul.

Sorry to hear that. That's one of those things that just get to you. Keep all the memories close to heart.

"We are alone, absolutely alone on this chance planet: and, amid all the forms of life that surround us, not one, excepting the dog, has made an alliance with us."
Maurice Maeterlinck
Belgian dramatist, essayist, & poet (1862 - 1949)

Hopefully she will meet my dog maddie I lost last year up there. She had congestive heart failure. They can hang out and do dog-like activities together. Its hard man, prayers sent your way...

Smoke and prayers on the way.
As bad as it hurts, take comfort from the fact that you made her life a good one and are ending her suffering. I'll pray that she finds an idyllic place to spend eternity.

I'm sorry that this has to happen. It is so hard to put down one of your best friends.

"a dog is the only thing in the world that will love you more than yourself"

Cook up a big steak for her. The smoke will be lit.

Both you and her will have the prayers and thoughts of my entire family....we will pray that there be no fear or discomfort, only peace for both of you, and that God will comfort both of you...till you see her again. I am so sorry, I am at a loss for words. Remember the good times as I know she will.....based on how you describe your relationship with her and your obivious love for her, don't ever forget she loves YOU and she knows you love HER.

Well Said E. One of the toughest things we do; you gotta be tough and do it...for her sake. This pain is the validation of good relationship; it's the price for admission to real life, it's a gift for her. You know this already, but it's worth saying anyway. Smoke sent and best wishes.
