about ikoma guardian angle flipper, and the korth stinger and palace aswell. i was thinking strider, but why pay 400-475 for a production when for 25 more you can get an ikoma GA and for alot less you can get a korth stinger or palace... i want to hear about there locks, edge holding, durribility, edc ability, comfort, you know, the basics.
thanks

Ikoma's GA flipper is a very, very nice piece in terms of workmanship, but isn't practical IMO. The dual edge with bellied front and recurved back with a definite "break" between the two isn't going to be real friendly to sharpen and limits cutting utility. And the grind is too thick to be efficient. So it's really kind of an expensive tactical-fighter and finger-fiddler with not a lot of utility use ..... and who needs that, when a cheap shank or shiv will do the same ugly business just as well?

Great eye candy though, and feels very good in the hand with the look and feel of quality, I'll say that much. Might be a good investment if you just keep it in the safe, NIB, but that's not much fun IMO.

Can't comment on the others.

Hi guys. this is my first time to post in this forum, just sold my two crkt m14 and m16 to a friend and purchased my new emerson cqc13 bowie folding knife. I will appreciate if you can comment on my new emerson bowie.

I bought this knife solely for self defence/counter offense purposes.

Just my 2 cents but...
All the knives you've listed are great, but id still go with the Strider, I consider my Strider to be the toughest, most durable folder I have owned, plus a lifetime warranty makes some difference. Im not sure what the angel or stinger have for warranty. Also resale value is almost the same if not more than what you paid. If you like the aesthetics of the stinger or guardian angel by all means get one of those, but if your consideration is dependability, I can definetly say that a Strider is always there when you need it.

I think Korth folders are a very good value. They're not bulit as heavily as the Striders, so you need to evalutate what your use needs will be. While Striders have a brutish (I don't mean that as an insult to Striders, it's just the best way I can describe it) aesthetic appeal, the Korths are much nicer looking to me.

EDC-ablility is going to depend on size, materials, construction, etc. My Korth Samurai is a slim Ti framelock. It could be carried every day with no problem. It's very light, locks solidly and has a very usable S30V blade. The IKBS is a nice feature too, makes for very fast and smooth action.
