I'm about to start another inlay swap. This time I'm using my BP110. I never really liked the scale that came on them. So these are the four options I've picked for this project. Oh, and I was able to fix the wobble in the blade. So let me know what you think would look best with that blade coating. Thanks fellas.

Gabon Ebony
Bocote
Desert Ironwood
Amboyna Burl

I would vote for Amboina.

That doesn't only look beautiful, it smells good too. From time to time I would carry such a knife under my nose.

Best,

PR...that was not help at all:rolleyes:. I'm leaning with Haebbie at the moment. Although the Ironwood would look really good too. I'm thinking I should save to Ebony for a nickel/silver knife.

Hi Gordan,

Well my next question for you is how are you going to have the finish on the new scales? If you leave it unfinished then go with the Burl. However, if you are going to add a finish to really bring out the depth of the wood grain....then I'd go with the Ironwood.

Tru-Oil. That stuff really makes the grain pop. Then Birchwood sealer/filler. That should do the trick.

I think the Bocote would look very interesting and very original.

Allen...those were exactly my thoughts when I bought the Bocote. I got som zircote for the same reason. Very Original unique look for a 110.

Bocote...Looks just like my hardwood floor...

Trax, you must have some very expensive floors! Do you also have 24ct gold plate on all your bathroom fixtures:D

Well it seems the Amboyna is favored then the Ironwood. I did get my two book matched pairs of KOA. Its very nice select wood...probably as nice as my CS110 in KOA.

Maybe Pack Rat's got the right idea afterall.

Thanks guys...the back and forth makes it all the more entertaining. g

Does anyone else think that bare liner on Flatulence's BP110 looks...odd...

BTW: Who stocks that Bocote??? It's a lot yellower than what I've seen listed...I like it... :)
