First I would like to thank all the forum members who have replied to my threads with advice.

I have placed my order with Rob for a KMG Grinder with a platen and an 8" wheel plus the base plate and various accessories for getting it up and running. I went with a KBAC-27 Controller and a 1 1/2 HP Leeson motor so I could run it off 110VAC. If I find the 1 1/2 HP to be lacking I can always upgrade to a 2 HP.

The bad part is that now I'm playing the waiting game. Rob is out of town at a trade show and won't be able to ship my order until Tuesday. I feel like I'm 12 years old again and waiting for Santa. I may not sleep good for a week!

Thanks,

AWESOME!! I remember the day I saw the box sitting there by my front door (my wife took delivery and had him drop it off just inside the gate...garden home). It was a great, great feeling. Then I stayed up to like 4 in the morning getting it all painted and building the stand for it! It took a few more days to build everything else and get it wired up.

The first time you start it up is like an epiphany.

Good luck with the wait!

So old people don't still wait for Santa?

Congrats on the KMG though.

Yea, we old farts still wait for Santa, but we usually have a hard time staying awake not falling asleep! But I rarely get toys that give me that old feeling of anticipation.

I think I refrenced 12 years old because I got my Remington Nylon 66 .22 rifle that year! I was so worried that I wouldn't get it and my parents hid it just like the movie Christmas Story. All the presents were gone and then it was the "Oh I think we missed this one"

I went and got mine, paid him cash and saw his shop. Clean and organized. Rob and his wife were quite nice. You'll enjoy your grinder.

WOO HOO! I just received tracking numbers in my email today! Expected delivery Monday the 8th.

I already have my Leeson motor and a KBAC-27 controller. Ordered $100 worth of assorted belts from Tracy Mickley to get a feel for what works for me. He is also a great guy and FAST with shipping!

Now I just have to have some patience when it arrives so I can paint it and set it up properly before I start destroying steel!!!!

Rob is great just as I've heard on the forum. He answered all my pestering emails with kindness and consideration for my lack of knowledge and minor impatience.

Thanks Rob, You Rock!

Yep! Chris, it's on the way. Being out there on the left coast..you've got to wait while it's in transit.

Gosh, there's no recession happening here at Beaumont Metal Works!! We've never had to ship so many machines in one month...you guys are killing us with all the orders. Thank you very much!! :) :)

Keep 'em coming and we'll keep figuring ways to get them out in a timely manner.

I've been spreading the KMG Gospel ever since receiving mine! Hopefully this is economic stimulus at work for you =) (Btw, appologies for not showing any knives since the first one that I finished after getting the KMG but there are others in the works and the machine is getting /plenty/ of use, with just about every project in my shop. I'll have a nice cable damascus one to show sooN!)

:DWell after much aniticipation and a painful wait I took possession of my KMG today!!! It arrived safe and sound and looks nicer than I could imagine.

I'm going to have to wait to get it set up and running for a few days due to being on Jury Duty.

Oh well, I waited this long and I need to take my time and set it up right. I bought about one of every belt Tracy Mickley sells so I can see what I like.

I'll post a picture of the set up and my first grind when I get to it.

Thanks for all the answers to my questions when planning this setup and a special thanks to Rob for building such a great grinder and his excellent customer service!:D
