I own the night....

I carry a Fenix TK11 and have another on one of my .22s. Keep a P3D in my truck bag for when the TM15 is just too much.

i have some surefires as well - i wonder how these fenix products stack up quality-wise? might be worth a try

Personally, I would never buy another Surefire. I have 2 (E2E executive and defender) and after one drop each, they both stopped working. This was at different times, I dont want it to sound like I was "testing" them, but during normal carry of a height roughly 3 feet to 4 feet high.

My Fenix PD31 has fallen from the rafters of my shed, roughly 10 foot onto concrete floor and numerous other falls bumps bangs and bruises and it is still kicking. Even my Streamlight has been able to withstand the daily abuses of my children 9 and 5 yo.

Surefire will always own my heart for weapon lights, one thing that the Army got really right. I have a 952 on my AR and a 951 on the wife's. Beyond that, I quit carrying Surefire's a long time ago and started experimenting. Olight makes a good light, as does Sunwayman. Fenix, in my experience, has been iffy on quality control.

Thats odd man, all my surefire's are beasts. The fury which supposedly isnt weapons rated has been mounted to my ar with over 1k through it and no issues. I've swam with it in the ocean, dropped it from all sorts of heights and never had a problem. Even my cheaper g2 led is still holding strong after being mounted to my 870 with at least 1500 rounds of shotgun shells put through it. The x300 on the pistol is still kickin @$$ and taking names as well.....

looks like i have to buy a fenix tk22 anyway

i ordered two ampmax packs and a charger - and now the rechargeable battery packs dont fit my surefires and my nightops gladius:grumpy:

And almost twice as bright.

Not from what I have seen (fast forward to the 6:30 mark for beam shots): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oCA-DSksPk

2600 Lumens vs 3500 lumens.

The TK75 has a much better throw with a brighter hotspot but the TM26 has a wider flood.

For me the TK75 suits my need and a price of $169 at http://www.bjs.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?partNumber=P_153249212&x=33&y=10&storeId=10201&currentPage=1&langId=-1&catalogId=10201&tASearch=&productId=236498&pageSize=40&searchKeywords=FENIX+TK75&originalSearchKeywords=fenix+tk75 is a much better deal.

Already saw that video. So at the 6:30 mark he is comparing the TM15 and TM26. If you want to see the comparison between the TK75 and TM26 since that's what we were talking about, it starts at 7:40. As you can see in that video, the TM26 was a WAY better flood. Yeah the TK75 is a thrower (as I said earlier) but I don't find much use for those other than showing off. I find more flood to be more useful. And yes the TM26 does have almost twice the lumens. 2000 vs 3500.

Yeah you can find the TK75 for $169 but then you can't compare that to the retail cost of the TM26. I've seen them on sale for $300.

AND since we are talking prices, I should mention I got my TM15 for $220 WITH 4 Nitecore 18650 batteries. When you factor in the batteries and charger (TM15 comes with a charger) you are probably the same price for less light.

A couple of beam shots.

I thought my math was bad. TK75 = 2600 lumens. TM26 = 3500 lumens. That is a little bit of a stretch to say twice the lumens.

I mentioned the 6:30 mark since this when they started showing beam shots.....as I stated about above. I never said the 6:30 mark was the TK75 beam shot.

Nitecore makes some very nice products but again the TK75 (with the greater throw) plus the $169 price is far better for my needs especially out on the water.

thanks to you guys (and the fact that my new rechargeable battery packs dont fit my surefires) i ordered a nitecore SRT7 and a sunwayman t21cs today my cousin just got his new fenix tk22 so we have something to compare :)
