Well, I've tried a few Spydercos lately, including the D2 Para, which I really liked, although the Captain's still my favorite. However, I did get a Sage & I'm impressed. I know it's been written, but I wouldn't have known it's made in Taiwan if it wasn't stamped on the blade, it's that good.
I liked the Caly3, but it was missing something. I couldn't figure what it was, but it just wasn't quite "it." Well, I got the Sage & I'm in love. How can one complain about a leaf shaped flat ground S30V blade? While not as thick as the Captain's, the SS liners are thick enough & the carbon fiber scales have a very deep pattern. To top it off, it has the low-riding wire clip. I really do wish Spyderco would put that wire clip on more knives.
A little off topic, but I had tried out a friend's D2 Para for a bit & that was a very nice knife. I also just got a Calypso Jr. ZDP & hope to test it out & run it through its paces to see if ZDP-189 laminate is really "that" good. We shall see
