I placed an order for a Kirby Lambert custom knife. Kirby lives in Canada. I have a waited a long time and should be getting it soon. I am very excited but have also begun to get a little worried about shipping such an expensive knife across the border. I live in upstate NY. The knife is IKBS. Should I be concerned? He sells knives all the time to people here. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I can't even imagine losing it before I ever saw it.

I have had hundreds of knives shipped to me through USPS and have only had 1 go missing(due to bad packaging). I have lost 2 to customs agents that were starting their own knife collections. Customs has been less than zealous lately and I haven't had one check-stopped in over a year.
 
jackman2: I wouldn't worry one bit. Mr Lambert must have shipped hundreds of knives to United States. Looking forward to pictures of your knife :thumbup:

Kirby Lambert makes a great knife. Shipping from Canada to the USA is a lot easier than going the other way.
 
Not really sure how I started a new thread. Did not intend to. Ya I figured it was fine, but these threads make me nervous. Man I can't wait for this knife. Black g10 handles. Lightning strike carbon fiber bolsters. Orion with ikbs. Going to be sweet.
 
Wait what? Did this get moved to feedback? It is about shipping across the border. Why did it get moved here? I thought it was relevant. Or did I click something stupid and send it here?

jackman2, you did not start a new thread. You started a new topic. The original thread was about shipping a knife TO Canada. Your topic was about shipping a knife FROM Canada. i removed the posts associated with your topic and made this new thread from them.

I moved both threads to FEEDBACK, since this is where we have been discussing how to package, ship, and track what we buy and sell.
