If you have a belt sander and some fresh belts, life will be easier for you. Wear breathing and seeing protection no matter the method - either the steel and abrasive particles will pose a risk or someone will give you carp for 'ruining' your knife (instead of thoughtfully commenting on your indivualizing a knife for your high-performance cutting needs).
I'd hope so. I fully convexed my old Schrade Peanut and gave it a convex secondary bevel. It cut very well too, but not any better than before. I did it mainly for appearance.
