*I put it back together*Took apart Stretch, now I can't get it back together.

I bladeswapped one of my FRN ZdP's with my user CF to get the CF mated with a new blade a few months back. I had a whale of a time fighting the lockbar on both like you did. Had to redo it twice as I first tried the swap without switching the lockbar also (I knew but was lazy)which resulted with the switch not flush and one of the the blades not centered. I wish I had a more helpful suggestion but think I just got lucky eventually on both. Took a chunk of a day off and pissed off the wife. Youtube delica vids helped. I knew not to mess with lockbacks as hot soapy water is all you really need to clean them if you know what you are doing, but it was a bladeswap project. Working with both I quickly realized how easy it is to F something up. If there is a real issue sending it out would be best. The tight action you encountered would have worked itself out over time. Trial and error is not a good idea on these. I wonder if I somehow "lessened" them by not knowing what Im doing. Thats why preneed replacements are justified :) Maybe send it out before you break something.

On lockbacks, I always use a zip tie to hold down the lock bar while I assemble the pivot and blade. This makes is a lot easier to get everything lined up and in place. Oldie, but a goodie.

The stretch has a tiny amount of play, but it had the same amount out of the box. This is normal for a lock back, correct?

If you are talking about vertical play, I'd say that a very tiny amount (where you can just barely feel it) is not abnormal. Others may disagree. The Caly 3.5 (back lock) in my pocket has just a tiny hint of vertical play, but I tend not to notice these things.
