I really want a Benchmade but,

I picked up a 300sn about 2 months ago and is my fav benchmade so far. Full liners, nice g10 scales, and a thick (.130) blade. Operation is the smoothest manual axis I've handled. Can't seem to put it down. Highly recommended.

It sounds like you want to be talked in to buying a Grip. Look, no matter what anyone says about polymers, strength and whatever tgreat things they think about the Grip. The bottom line is that YOU held it, and YOU did not like the feel. Don't buy it, because nothing that is said will change how it feels in YOUR hand. If you really want to try Benchmade and want to stay at or around $100 there are a few other choices starting with the H&K 14715 wich was mentioned earlier. People have been comparing it's design to Emerson. Also check out the 525 Mini Presidio. Aluminum scales and steel liners. after those your pretty much looking at a price bump to around $130.

So true! Personally, the S30 blur and buck vantage pro are the "mini grip" to me. At current prices I would have chosen a 707 over the grip a year ago.

And while not the same, I find that I will reach for an opinel #8 or a Skyline more often than anything else when at home.

If you really like the design folks should support the price hikes as dealers need to be in business as well.

For me I dont like the grip enough to pay that price. Its a finicky price point. I would rather pay for a skyline or delica 60 bucks or u.der or pay 125-150 for something that has a little more to it.

I would just get something used under a $100 like a rift. Just recently bought a used contego for $100. It will arrive today.:D Mini grip i do really like (i bought one as a gift and have been fondling it as much as possible before it goes to the new owner.:p) but i don't think i'll ever buy one for myself cause i just have no need for one. I think the handle on the mini grip is comfortable and i got big hands, locks up very well,no blade play, really is good knife. But i would rather have almost any other of the rest of the Benchmade line up over it though.
