I received my first Perrin PPT from Tom Berry Saturday instead of Monday

I got a PPT tonight. I'm really looking forward to it too. Hope it gets here first of next week.
The OP's review pushed me over the top. :)

Here is another interesting observation about this knife: They are not popping up over on the sale forum like that stubby BM.
Seems everyone that has one is keeping it. That my knife friends is a solid recommendation by itself.

I think you hit the nail on the head about the PPT.
Usually after a week or two with a new knife, the honeymoon wares off.
I have a lot of different Spydies, and I know, with out a doubt this one is a keeper. :D

I'd love to see this in a backlock. The design and ergos are just incredible and build quality is out of this world, but it just wasn't lefty-friendly enough for me. The lock was no problem, but the big chunk of steel over the hole killed it.

I would love to see a picture of the knife in hand. Especially showing one "choking up" and another "choking down".

Funny, because when I got mine in, these were two of the pics I felt were important to take to show how good it fits either way. It is a really great knife overall and is proving out to be a fantastic EDC for me. I feel sorry for the lefties out there that won't get a chance to really enjoy this one though.:thumbdn:

By the way, I got mine from Catamount/Tom too. Great guy to do business with.

I hate to ask what might be a dumb question, but does it have skeletonized liners?

At first the PPT had no attraction for me at all but the more I look at it the more interesting it seems. I think Perrin and Spyderco make a great team, would like to see more collaboration. Personally, I think a high end PPT with bead blasted Ti scales would kick so much butt.

The liners are skeletonized, though the holes in it are relatively small. There’s a pic here with the lock-side scale off.

I’m still EDCing mine. It’s really a super knife. My only complaint is that it seems to be tearing my pockets up a bit, though it’s not too bad. I think the jimping on the spine is probably more to blame for that than the handle texture.

I really like the sort of primeval look of this knife.

Do you think the blade shape can be classified as a modified wharnie? Or is it just a bit too much upswept?

Pretty darn sure you'll likes it :p I'm thinking once I finally receive the Para II
they are all a fella really needs. A PT, Para and for those light carry times a Delica IV

Great pictures Reeek

I have had the chance to handle the one I won in the Spyderco calender contest for a few days now and i really, really like it!

The weight was a surprise when i first took it out of the box  Sharp as all heck too :D

I got it today. The PPT is a jaw dropper!! The build quality is as good as anything on the market for 5 times the price. The design is a winner. More later but you guys have got to put one of these in your hand. If you do you will own one no doubt about it.

So love at first grope!!!

I like my PPT very much, and I am a left hander. Can't be carried in left front pocket, but right front or back pockets are no problem. Opening and closing left-handed is a breeze; the hole is somewhat obscured by the frame/liner lock, but still plenty of room to open lefty, and I don't have small hands.

Very glad I purchased this knife, and I agree with what everybody is saying about the quality of this knife. No mixed feelings, like with the mpr, this one is a winner all around. If you lefty guys are on the fence, take my word for it, it's no problem for left handed operation--just carry it in a different pocket.:D

I wasn't sure about the blade shape at first, but after a few weeks, I absolutely love it! I really can't say enought about this knife. It is definitely not the most expensive knife I own, but it has become my favorite. Great and very thoughtful design.

I've carried mine almost every day since I got it and still do. I need to try and force myself to carry one of my other knives soon. :D

Reeek that is one quality photo session. i can tell this knife is as solid as the bradley. lots of work went into this baby. i read the article on the 1st snoody project with a similar blade shape to this knife. Janavitch , snoody ' & perrin put lots of thought into these projects.thanks for the extensive report. dennis
