i coulnd't get the burr off either. using fine stone got that off. only used strop for polishing and getting little sharper. i'll have to work more on this sharpening thing.
Stropping and drawing through wood are 2 deburring methods I've not been able to work reliably. The exception is power stropping on my belt sander with the Surgi-sharp belts and compound, and the burr from a belt is different from a stone.
I had a hard time with my Necker until I used some Green compound on a leather strop... Now it is hair popping sharp. The key for me was patience and paying attention to the blade angle and pressure I was applying.
maybe my old belt is not the way to go. i do have green compound, but it's hit and miss. sometimes, the edge feels sharper and sometimes it's dull. either that or i just need to play around more.
i just shaved back of my finger with 16! sorry no pictures. i don't have much hair to start with and it won't show on the picture. trust me, i tried to take picture of my fuzz hair and my camera is too cheap to take it.
