People cry "abuse" far to readily, IMHO. There USED TO be a legal concept in America, known as "mens rea" which means, essentially "mind guilt" or "a guilty mind"... Stick with me here. The notion (simplified) was, that if a person accidentally broke the law, but had no criminal intent, then no crime had really taken place. (I know that the concept of mens rea has taken a back seat in today's world, calm down...) It seems, to me, ludicrous to say that one "abuses" their knife because they use what's alleged to be a sturdy knife to clear some bark from a log, and in the process accidentally snap the tip of their blade. There was no intent to break the knife, only the intent to accomplish a task for which said knife seemed suitable. Was this 'hard use'...maybe Was this abuse...not on your life. Do such actions require care on the part of the user, ABSOLUTELY. I wouldn't use the tip on Protech Ciabatta to pull bark off of a paper-bark maple tree, while I can't imagine a tree who's bark could present a threat to an E.R. Fulcrum. Anyway, I've had good luck with Benchmade's customer service, and I don't doubt that Munky will as well.
