I had ZTs, spydercos, Benchmades, Emersons, Kizer, etc. Literally 30-40 folders including icons such as the minigrip, paramilitary 2, zt561, spyderco southard, manix 2. The list goes on...

All these knives and what was the single one that I kept to carry everyday?!!

DRUMROLL!!!

My RAT II!!

What a perfect blade :D

Have fun.
My wife reminds me how many times I've said, This is the one.

I did that in January. But am now adding back some ZT and Hinderer.

The Rat II is a fine choice, and will handle almost any EDC task. I wish that I were sane enough to own just one folder.

I hear that. I think I have a "this is the one" moment on a monthly basis. Though my current "the one" has held the title since march so that aint to bad for a knife whore like myself.

I wish my moment was on a monthly basis. I wanna change up every couple of days. I'm even more of a trollop! :D

Guys, lets just acknowledge that if we own more than a couple of knives, its not because we need to cut more stuff. The first knife would have done that. With each knife we are buying a temporary emotional high, which will soon dissipate. And when it does, we will need another fix.

Can't see only having one folding knife. That just isn't me. The RAT II is a knife I have never owned.

I have like three identical back ups on my favorite Vic SAK.

I agree with the OP that the RAT series is superb. Unbelievable value. I have a RAT 1 and a Utilitac II. I've been able to stop buying new folders.

Wow, powerful words and true in a way I've never really realized. Hi, my name is rjwiggall and I'm a knifeaholic!

Good choice, I was impressed by the quality to cost ratio myself. I bought one for a friends birthday. Great knife.

I wish I could do the same but I have a bad addiction. :P

What these new cold steels?
You should really get yourself one, they're great Knives! ;)

You guys keep saying how great Rat knives are. So, let's see....out of everything I own, these get the most use:

Kershaw Zing (US version),

CRKT Prowler,

Benchmade Grip (full size),

Victorinox / Wenger Soldier

Victorinox Cadet.

Leatherman Wave

I would love to try a Rat knife but, the question is which one? Also, where would it fit in the group of knives listed above?

Hi, my name is Shorttime, and I'm a knifeaholic.

Not as bad as most here (I can manage on one about every three months), but I'm a cheapskate, so there's that.

Parting with them is the hard part, for me. Mostly my folders find their way into the hands of friends who I know will give them good homes.

I salute your bravery, Kitten Party!

You must buy inexpensive knives if you are giving them away.
