No worries. Whether or not you planned to buy a Mini-Grip, you caught my meaning.

Seems to me a lot of people get hung up on the importance of certain properties of steel for their own sake. I'd think a chem nerd like yourself would realize the importance of properly matching steel chemistry to its application. But hey, if you like an alloy that isn't ideally suited to its application, who am I to argue with you? ;)

PS: Nice edit job. :)

The differences in steel properties between M390 & CPM-20CV are almost identical. Both would be suited fine for any folding knife between 2"-4"..

The real difference lies in the PM process used to make the steel. I simply prefer BU's over crucibles CPM process.. It doesn't matter what knife is used. For me, the more M390, the better :)

Not the biggest fan of the color but maybe this means they will start making more g10 options available.

Nope. I already said what I had to say and I'm not going there again. Have fun. :)

The most important part of how the steel is made is what it's applied to . . . unless you're chem nerd, that is. ;) :D

Over and out.

Yeah, that'd be the case if we were comparing M390 to CPM-M4 (totally different steels for different applications), however, we are discussing the differences between M390 & -20CV (two almost identical steels in element composition, differing in the powder metallurgy process in which they were made).

Maybe I am a chem nerd, but at least I can see the difference lol not that difficult actually.

That's what I thought.

The most important part of how the steel is made doesn't get discussed lol.

PM out :D

That is probably best left for the metallurgical forums (where the actual metallurgists hang out), not the knife forums, where the end line users dwell.
