I just finished this knife for my newphew. Dyson' will turn 10 years old Saturday, and if I really hustle (very unlike me ) I'll have a sheath made for this one.

His Dad, Phil, has done quite a bit of work on my house for me and never asked for a cent, though Linda (sister) insisted on paying him for some jobs.

Last September Phil and Dyson came over to my house and we forged out 2 blades made of 1075, which one of was to be Dyson's knife. Dyson did forge out some of the tang, and he loved every minute of the whole day.

The blade is 4 5/8" and the handle and guard are 4 1/4". Copper guard, I ended up putting 1/8" mosaic pins, because the original copper pins, which I thought were solid turned out to be 1/8" tube. One of the pin holes is blind and if you couldn't see through all 10 pins I wasn't going to use them. All I had at the house was the pins I used, so that's why they're in there. the handle is linen micarta, which was also Dyson's choice. The handle is two piece so I went with hidden pins through the tang. I thought it would be cool to use 10 pins for his birthday .

I think I will soon become #1 Uncle
