I think I discovered the RAT secret!

We support Busse knives simple because they have a warranty second to none like we do, and they're made in the USA.

I see several really good companies like Busse, TOPS, and Reeves and Randall , et al that have great business ethics and build a great product. Jeff and I are not alone in this field. But the competition in our minds is to remain in this field and run just a little ahead of our friends like the afore mentioned by operating the great customer service and price just a little better than others or at least second to none. It's a friendly competition so we look back at our competitors with a grin and the target is on our back since we run a little ahead.:) I love HONEST competition in a free market. It is a place where the best ideas and hardest work really shine and people are honestly rewarded for their efforts. No legal bullshit, lies and theft are needed in an environment like this. As long as we can find honest, friendly competitors and customers like the folks found here we will continue to ramp up the stakes in this free market industry. Thank you all for buying and using our knives. Mike

RAT certainly has a noticeable price advantage over any other knives I buy or contemplate buying. The best part is, by purchasing an RC knife I can support RAT, save money and know I'm not giving up anything as far as performance/reliability of my blade.

I've really been into knives for a year and 2 years into random knife related stuff. Cold Steel was one of the first companies I really got familiar with and I thought they were awesome. Later when I got inside a bit more I found out they were pretty much a shady morally bankrupt firm, but I wasn't really shocked by that, I always knew they were a bit controversial. I still like some of their knives and don't care about their ethics.

Then came the other big companies Benchmade, Spyderco, SOG, CRKT, Böker etc. And I thought BM was top-notch, like #1, not only did they make good quality knives, but they had good customer service and moral values. Those thoughts were pretty much crushed a while ago and I'm glad they were. If you're not familiar what I'm talking about check these couple Youtube videos:

I know he's pretty aggressive and pissed and might be a bit biased, but he is stating actual facts.

Having lost faith in Benchmade, sort of an idol for me at the time, I had lost pretty much all of my faith in the entire knife industry. If I couldn't trust BM, who could I trust!? And I became pretty much indifferent and decided not to care about ethics and just get the knives I want. Well I still can't help it if I like a BM or CS design and want it, but at least I'll think twice before getting it.

But then I got the urge to get myself a big, bad, hardcore fixed blade for woods use and I remembered the RATs I had seen, went to your site and I fell in love with the RC-5. (I'll be getting it in a few months once I scoop up some extra dough, oh the agony of waiting.) And later on I wandered here and noticed how you guys do your business, you guys made me think that maybe the industry isn't so bad after all. Böker and Spyderco as well seem to have good contacts with the users as off how I see it.

All I gotta say is: thank you for restoring my faith in the industry of knife making!

...and price just a little better than others or at least second to none. Mike

AMEN! I don't know about you, but I don't have a printing press in my basement, and have to sacrifice every .05 & .10 for my kids. That said, I have all RAT knives and none of the aforementioned.
Another thing that just caught my attention is, I read earlier about Busse knives "being SHOT''. Does that mean Busse knives can stop bullets? Maybe they should borrow the Sog knives logo. Did you ever see that logo, a blade tip and cleaved bullet !?! I would like to see that happen :barf: I've seen Chihuahuas wearing spiked leather collars also, sitting in their owner’s pink dog bag.

I always liked the rat designs, even when Ontario was making them. I just couldn't bring myself to buy one because of the hit and miss heat treatment Ontario had. Then Mike and Jeff took the bull by the horns and had Rowen start producing their designs. First I bought a Rat-4. Bad-ass blade! Then I had to have a Rat-3. Also a bad-ass blade but did some tasks better/ had other applications. Finally, I had to have an Izula. I have had MANY so called neck knives and had never found one that I liked. Let's just say that the Izula is my constant carry companion no matter where I go. I like my RATs so much, I have been slowly selling off my other knives so that I can buy more RAT cutlery. Another Izula is on the list as a backup in case I lose the one I have. Jeff, Mike, and Shon :thumbup: I use my knives DAILY and have yet to have any problems with the knives or the sheath systems. Thanks guys for making an outstanding product.
