Just bought a knife (Spec bump) from Savson Swords and Knives (online).
I would put $ on it that this wasn't a new knife at all. Worse shape than any display knife at a store..... Abrasions and finger prints on the blade, scratches and dirt, from what seemed like dirty, salty hands on the clip. Light abrasions on and under the lock release and on the knife....:grumpy:

Return it and complain. All Kershaws I have bought or inspected come boxed clean and factory fresh looking.

I would contact them first before accusing them on this board -- I have purchased four knives from them and exchanged one because it wasn't what I expected and they have been above board on return policy with me. I have never had a problem quality wise with them. Have you contacted them yet?

I bought a Kershaw Offset a week or so ago from GP knives and should have ordered from them again. This was my 1st purchase from Savson... No wonder the knife was so cheap.....

No, not yet.....There is no excuse for this though...

you should be letting them know of your issue and giving them a chance to resolve the matter before posting here.

I don't think on-line dealers should be given a chance to explain their screw ups before they are posted here. Stick with the trustworthy dealers like New Graham and Knifeworks.

I would return the knife, ask for a refund and order a new one from another dealer.

I bought a Spec Bump from Savson when they first came out, as well as a TOPS blade. Shipping was decently quick and no problems with either knife. That's been my only dealing with them, but I was completely satisfied. Give them a call and see what they'll do. It's bad that it happened but could just be a return that got mixed up with the new stock.

I've purchased several knives from Savson, including a Spec Bump, and they've all been pristine n.i.b. Communication and shipping was great. I'd give them a chance to make this right. It's one of the hazards of online buying these days that things slip through the cracks. We sacrifice the the ability to personally inspect what we buy in person for the cost savings.

I'd be really interested to hear how this works out. They really have excellent prices and are becoming one of my favorite vendors.

I disagree with not giving the company a chance to make this right. I also feel that they should have been given that opportunity before anything was reported here. Please be sure to let us know how Savson looks after this problem.
