I think I made a mistake

I broke down and bought the new Taylor made Schrade 1080t. I'm guessing that this has been assembled from the parts Taylor bought when Schrade was auctioned off. Well, I hope so. There is a made in China stamp on the main blade of the stockman, and a Schrade shield on the handle. I just bought two Buck knives made in China, a stockman and a Cadet, I can live with the knife being made in China, but that shield is just ugly. It looks like some rightly disgruntled Schrade employee beat the knife with the ugly stick before they packed it up for auction.

Any other horror stories?

Yup. You made a mistake.
You could have gotten an Old Timer 8OT or Uncle Henry 897UH AND helped the Gulf Coast Assistance effort!! ;) :)

Or even a 34OT, and they weren't even "end of days" knives! Keep watching our relief pledge effort... new donated knives and related products each week!

I doubt your OT was made from leftover parts. Taylor is importing those things by the millions. You should be able to find plenty of the real Schrade Old Timers, including the 108, on eBay.

If you want, I could check the local K-Mart and ACE this week for you. At least until very recently, they each had a few of the very common smaller models available.

I found a few real Schrades left at one of these stores:

There might be one near you, and it may have been overlooked by scavengers. Of course, they might be gone by now from regular sales, but like I said the one I went to had some left.

watch this forum for the third "Gulf Coast Assistance" segment

atonement may be near................................
