I think I may need to get back to an EO....

Hey evens, I've got this little opener that I don't use anymore, and it's in like new shape. Give me a shout on the email with your address and I'll get it off to ya. It's yours if you want it.

Carl.

This right here is why I love this community. Awesome!

I'm not one hundred percent sure it's my knife. I'm left handed, so it stays in my left pocket, and most of the time I open it by wrapping my middle finger around and pulling down, so it's my middle finger nail that should be messed up.

I'll have to get in my drawer and see if I have something I can pinch open for a couple weeks. Lots of good ideas here

I was looking at the foto in the first post and the nail and nail bed look healthy enough to me. It may not be the knife doing that, but you will quickly figure that out once you get to using the easy open. I don't know what that "Tuff Nail" will do for you but I'd for sure try it out. I hope this works out for you. There are dietary supplements that are supposed to help, but may or may not be of benefit to you. Honestly, most of the time the supplements for me turn out to mostly just make my wallet lighter; same as buying knives, but not as satisfying.

I carry one custom slipjoint that can be easily plucked open and it was made for me with a lighter than usual pull. It has a half stop, but (per SAK Guy) it would be much smoother with a cam tang. When my thumb really acts up, I carry a small fixed blade.

Carl and SAK Guy have mentioned it: SAK's are smooth openers.
