Photos I think I prefer fixed knife, I'm not really into folding

but this forum is focused mainly on folders.

I like fixed blades way more than folders. I dont like digging into my pocket to find my knife. I like to just feel it and grab it. Unfortunately I am a flat bed trucker and sheath can get hung up easy so i have found myself not carrying a knife lately. Last knife i carried was an Ontario RAT 1 folder and it was so heavy and always dull that I finally thru it away.
A nice worn in comfortable sheath is nice too. One that rides like it's part of the body. Unfortunately sheath wear out and you have to get a new one and its not broken in and its just uncomfortable and miserabl and you have to start the whole process of breaking it in again but if it's a comfortable knife its worth it.

One reason I have a hard time liking it here is that most guys like folders and they collect them like Hot Wheels. I would rather talk about a KA-BAR 1117 than a ZT anything. I dont even know what a ZT is.

I'm with you, James. I like the Cold Steel Peacemaker knives. The smaller Peacemaker III can be carried inside the pocket or clipped a number of places. I wish you safe travels.

I’m with you on fixed over folder. For me, fixed blades are faster to deploy and put away and far more inconspicuous in use (no opening “click” to draw attention).

Almost all of my EDC fixed blades are under 7” OAL and hide easily in an in pocket or cross draw sheath.

I do like to carry a small multitool or SAK Cadet in addition.

I prefer a small to medium sized folder instead of a folder.

There is less to go wrong with a fixed blade.
