<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i175.photobucket.com/albums/w137/weberje/Jeremy.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>I am a United States Marine currently stationed in Pnesacola, FL as an instructor. I am an airframes mechanic for the AV/8B Harrier (hydraulics and structures), which is where I learned to be proficient with my hands.

After my first year as an instructor and doing "nothing" except running my mouth all day, I needed to do something to keep my hands busy. I began my apprenticeship under my father in December of 2004.

My dad, Danny Weber, was a US Marine in Vietnam. Shortly after returning from the war, he apprenticed under Ralph Abbott and they traveled with the Gun/Knife Shows earning a living. Currently, he works as a machinist and still makes knives when he can find the time.

I just recently came back from a 2 year hiatus as I was finishing school. I am putting in a commissioning package to become a naval aviator for the Marine Corps next year. It is a pleasure to become a member of your forum. I am humbled by all the amazing work I've seen on here! Thanks for having me.

Hello my name is Frank Eaton. I am active duty Army stationed in Northern VA. I have about 18 months to go before retirement, and before starting another career.

I began making by stock removal method about 4 years ago. I very much enjoy making something new, I get very bored doing something that I have already done.

I have made 10 knives by forging, that is what I really want to learn to do well. I intend to go to the bladesmithing school before retiring from the military. I will never make full time, but I will always make part time.

I want to thank everyone on the forums. I visit the site very often, and I have learned a tremendous amount from all of you, I think that this site does wonders for the art of knifemaking of all disciplines.

Hi Guys. I'm Mitch Rokicki. 48 years of age. 20+ years with the NJSP; Ex-Army Infantry. Started making knives about a year ago, and forging for approx. 6 months. I met Sam Salvati a couple of months ago, and that guy has been unlucky enough to have been teaching me ever since. Working to pass the ABS Journeyman Smith test in a couple of years, then looking to retire up to Alaska, where I plan on forging knives full time. You guys have been extremely helpful in my studying the Craft, and most of you are top-shelf type guys. Thanks

Hi all. My name is Burton Haruf I am 33 years old. I am a full time graphic designer and a part time artist. I do mostly Native American stuff. I have recently done a couple paintings for a local archaeologist for some talks he has been giving. I also am an avid artifact collector and have been hunting Indian arrowheads since I was able to walk. I am an avid outdoorsman and have collected knifes for a long time. I bought a few knife blanks and finished them off and have sold quite a few like that. I now am ready to make the jump and start making my own blades. Thanks to everyone on here. There is a wealth of knowledge to be had.

Hello all, My name is Mike Davis(as noted :p) and i'm 31 years old.I have been interested in knives and knife making since i was age 5. My father brought me a small double blade Schrade pocetknife( which i still have and use daily). From that point i have always had and carried a knife, with the exception of school. I got into forging when i was in 8th grade shop class, had to make a screwdriver and a chisel. I have always wanted to make knives, but it wasn't until June of 06 that i stumbled onto these forums. I have made a few knives, but had some life issues force me to take a break until very recently. Now i am in the process of building a new forge and a new grinder.I am still using a 100lb. chunk of O-1 for my anvil( until i can find an fair deal on a real one). My income comes from being a professional tattoo artist, and that takes up most of my time. I will soon have some knives posted on the forums for you guys to take a peek at:p

Thanks
Mike

I'm Donnie Keith. Very new to this stuff. Done some blacksmithing before (mostly farrier). Thought I might try to make a knife or two...though I don't think I'm as serious about it as some of you guys. More interested in customizing knives somebody else made (old bucks, shrades, etc.) to look cool...just because they feel good in my hand. Plus, I'm into leather work, so sheaths are always in my mind with any knife.

I live in Columbia, SC...originally from Sallis, MS.

I am really Phil Millam of Winthrop Washington, another of those Northwest knifemakers. I'm 63 yo, a native of this wonderful state. US Army vet 1967-70.

My wife and I live up in the hills about 30 minutes from the small town of Winthrop in north central Washington. Our cabin is off the grid, but we don't miss the grid except in the winter.

I'm a hobbyist stock removal guy, and have been giving away knives to friends and relatives. My 94 yo mother gave me back a paring knife I made for her and told me to work on the edge. Hmm. I have been going back and forth between stainless and non-stainless steels. I have a Grizzley grinder and bandsaw, not much else. I'm hoping to get some new equipment for my new shop when we build our new house this summer/fall.

I really appreciate the generousity of knifemakers on this site, and I've learned a lot. Someday I'll get up the courage to post some pictures.

I've just started making knives and working on number 9 so far. I have a steep learning curve and not any makers very close to learn from. Jay Fisher has been very helpfull, more that he should be.

My name is Gilles Richard 20 out of a one horse town up in the great white north called Bonnyville with my wife and baby boy. I am a truck driver and come from a long line of truckers (wow that sounds mildly depressing...) i work a job that has me as a slave (working) for an average of 12-24 hours a day... (no joke, Gotta love the Oilfield.) have been interested in knifes since i was a wee lad but just started on making them. this site has helped me finish one of the goals on my "bucket list", make a knife, and has lead me to add another goal, Get better at making knifes!!! hahaha

but i am getting better... i hope

Hi, I'm Ray Fleischer I'm 24 and I'm a full time medical student (about to start 3rd year) in San Antonio. I started making knives a couple of years ago branching off of my woodworking skills. I got addicted right away. So far I have not actually sold a knife I made to anybody but friends and family, but I'm very close to selling to the public soon. I am kind of a perfectionist and don't want the value of my knives or name to be brought down in the future by releasing sub-par knives at first. I only do stock removal right now (mainly with CPM 154 and D2) because I don't have the room for a forge and barely have enough time to get good enough at just stock removal. I also do a variety of woodworking as well in between working on knives, and make all of the sheaths for my knives as well. Recently, I've been doing a lot of custom handles for spyderco guys on the mule team blade they came out with. I'm a quick learner and daily read over all of the good advice put on these forums. I'm very appreciative of all of the help I've received on the forums and want to thank everyone for it. It's a great group of guys on here!

I'm a full time knife and damascus maker. Started in 1986 at the age of 14.
I have been full time since 2006.
I am married with 4 girls.
I also make gold/silver mokume jewelry.
