I think it's time for a Mini-Grip...

I have had a Cabela's mini-grip in D2 for several months now and love it. Really holds an edge and not hard to sharpen. One of my favorites in my edc rotation. It just has a real good solid feel...it has steel liners inside the frn handles...and, IMHO, the axis lock is top notch. I like torx screws more than pressed fittings. I have a calypso jr and it is a fine light knife also. The mini-grip just feels more substantial in my hand. Just a personal preference, and I'm prone to being a Benchmade Knut. However, you got 2 calypso jrs for the price of one D2 mini-grip and got your wife involved...I'd say you did just fine for $34.95. ;)

Where can I get one of those.

Wow, that cabelas D2 mini grip might get me to buy a mini grip. OD green/plainedge BK is my favorite ;o

It's also the same price as the 440c minigrips. weird.

Remember, the only place you can get the Cabela's D2 grips is from Cabela's, whereas you've got a LOT of options on standard grips and minis. Shopping online, you can easily find stock minis/grips for $60/$55, versus $80/$70 for Cabelas.

I'm not saying the price bump for coated D2 blades isn't worth it, but you can certainly get one in 440C much cheaper.
