I think it's time to buy a Becker

I started with the iconic BK2 but found it did everything ok but nothing great ... so I bought a BK15 and loved it ... my next step was a BK5 ... again love it ...the BK5 may be my favorite Becker ... the next was a BK16 ... and found its a great knife to strap on for a day outdoors performs most things I ever need a knife for.

So my Becker collection current ended up with one BK2 (which may be in the to sell list soon) ... 2 BK15s ... 2 BK5s (with a 3rd to be purchsed very soon) ... and one BK16.

I am the oddball that always carrys a small axe or hatchet instead of another knife ... but have used a BK9 and a BK4 of friends ... and they are very cabale of processing wood for most situations.

Nine out of ten squirrels agree the BK16 is a fine choice.

I'd recommend you get a 14 or 11. I'm guessing you spend more time in urban area's than rural ones and either of those two can really go anywhere. I'm playing the odds is all. That having been said, you're gonna need one of each Becker.
I've mapped out a purchase plan for you.
1) BK14 (BK24)
2) BK16 (or BK17 if you can find one)
3) BK9
4) BK10
5) Bk11
6) BK15 (if you can find one)
7) BK2
8) BK29
That should get you to New Years.

Great plan! I like that plan!
Only the BK14 and BK16 should be on the list at least twice.

Pulled the trigger on a 5. Now it's time to wait, and hope my neighbors don't steal any more packages off me. And wait on my ebay money to come in (thanks PayPal).

I started out with a 2. First "real" knife I bought. If I can remember now I have a 11, 5, 4, 17, 20, 29. That might be it. I had a 9 but I sold it. Maybe I need to revisit it. I also need a 21.

Knife came in today. WOW! This is a lot nicer than I was expecting. The grivory handles actually aren't bad. The sheath I'm still not a big fan of, but I doubt I'll ever be carrying this on a belt. The blade is so light, but has heft to it at the same time. Will definitely try to strip it this weekend, unfortunately I won't get a chance to use it until later this month when I make it home. Great buy though, highly recommended.

Congrats! The 5 is a great knife, and does so many things people wouldn't think it would be able to do.

Unlike alot of people, I love the grivory handles and have never seen the need to change them to anything else. I have one 16 that has G10 grips, but is more of a showpiece and not a real user.

Grivory is good!

Couldn't agree more. The grivory works great for me.

Congrats I think you will love the 5 ... I left the Grivory on one and put Micarta on one and the handles are shaped well and I realy get no more movement or splipage with the Grivory then the textured G10.

Yeah, I'm probably sticking with the grivory for now, unless I try to make some wood grips after I make it home.

The 16 showed up today, I'll try to get some pics and possibly a review done this weekend. I'll post the print versions of the reviews here, might try my hand at video reviews too.

A good literal do every thing middling knife is the 2. Its got the strength and build to do about most things and its design is simple and clean. And a good solid thumpin and whumpin hilt! For closer in work I can't see a thumb ramp being a big help and the 2 don't got one. When I say literal do every thing, the 2 is built to do it!

Congrats ... hope you enjoy the new knives ... Ill look forward to hearing how you like them after you've had a chance to use them awhile.
