I think I've found my "the one"...

I found 'the One' when I took it out of a little white box that said 'Chris Reeve Knives', a week or so ago. A Large Regular Sebenza has replaced ALL of my other knives, both the unlucky ones that I still have and the others that I sold off in the quest of buying this CRK.

I think that I'm done collecting knives... :D

I gave up on getting a "holy grail" knife. My new saying is their is NO holy grail, only the NEXT holy gail. Like Shadow, Got a sebbie, now want a Minandi, etc..

I got my Hinderer Firetac today which if it isn't the "one" it's pretty dang close. It has everything I look for in a knife - disk opener (holes are about equal for me), textured grippy Ti handle, frame lock, nice snake wood inlay gives it a classy touch, scary sharp beautifully ground blade. This is one SWEET knife :D

I was lucky enough to have found the one several years ago with the Spyderco Wegner. Sadly it was discontinued, but Blade Tech is now making an improved version. It was like falling in love all over again.

I got the Mini. Have it for 20days now. Great knife by all standards. Price, size, Shape, design, steel. The designer of the blade took lessons from the Sebenza. My fav. Finish on the blade.

Alot of people Give dismiss it for not having a G10 Handle. Dont knock it untill u try it guys. It feels great in the hand and in the pocket

I am thinking of a bigger folder now and am thinking between the full sized one or the manix. I'd probably go for the manix just because its tougher for the kind of job i have in mind for it.

but agree, great knife

I'm trying to decide between one of the Ritters and a Manix. I'd like a heavy duty general purpose EDC. I'm currently carrying a BM Mini Grip, so I'm looking for something bigger/stronger.

Binford- I think the full size RSK is plenty strong enough for anything you'll have to ask of a folder. I've batoned some saplings and the like with it and had no trouble, whereas most liner locks I've tried just don't hold up well. A lot of people seem to have reservations about the GTX scales. I don't think they realize it's not the same FRN type stuff you find in Spydies and Gerbers and it actually handles stress better than G-10. If you didn't catch the Tactical Knives review of the RSK they did a lot of heavy baton work for that artiticle, I was pretty impresssed.

It's inconceivable that anyone would want just one knife. One woman, sure (who could handle more than one of those?). But just ONE KNIFE? No way.

My goal is to have just one, of each kind ever made. :D

Gonna' give this another shot. Lets see.......my "the one", can tell you right off that it isn't one but three. All three I'm going to mention, I've had before and ended up selling/trading them, but I've come full circle and gotten them again. Before I start naming names I want to say that the one knife I actually carried for a whole year was an ironwood inlaid large Sebenza, and for a long time the sebbie was all I was interested in getting. There are now some custom makers that can actually match the precision and engineering along with the fit and finish of the sebenza and that is the first of my "the one" And that would be; Rick Hinderer Firetac Extreme spearpoint. Another "the one" is one of the smoothest opening folders I've ever had, not to mention the sharpest, and that is the RJ Martin Devastator. The third one is a Jeff Hall Phalanx. This one has some of the thickest liners I've seen in a folder and it is more like a framelock with overlays instead of a liner lock. Also dig the blade shape on the Phalanx.

s I stated at the beginning I've had all three of these knives before and I missed them/was impressed with them/had to have them back, because I do think I have finally found "the one's"!!  :D :D :D

I have found my "the one" and like other it's a Hinderer Firetac. I've never been this happy with a knife before (and I've owned a good number of customs) I know it's the one because it has stayed in my pocket longer then all others and I have sold off almost everything else to fund other things (new watch) with no regrets. I don't even desire any other knives of this style anymore, though I do plan on picking up my first custom slipjoint at Blade this year.

Get ready to live up to your screen name... custom slips are a slippery slope.. ;)

Since I started getting into slips I've pretty much turned away from everything else. I have about 10 high end production tacticals and have not purchased any new ones in close to a year. (not including the MT Scarab I bought last week because of the operation I'm having...:))
