I think my new Small 21 Insingo was incorrectly ground

The end of the blade almost turns into a hawkbill. This is a factory edge that's been stroked down fine rods on a sharpmaker a few times.

Do you guys think CRK will fix this?

Is there a way for me to edit that thread title? I mean, I'm bummed about the canted clip on the 31, but not ready to go to war with CRK (yet...)

Best way to find out if CRK will do anything is to ask them. They are reasonable and pleasant people to deal with and will try to help.
IMO once you take it to a stone it is yours, so you may not get a new blade but they will likely do something.

“I’ll take it!”

Select thread tools just above your first post and edit the title.

Well, I used the method they recommended and think they'd be reasonable enough to see I haven't removed any material. Maybe just adjusted the microbevel. Factory grind lines are still present.

I've emailed CRK, I just wanted to know if you guys saw it too or if I was overthinking it.

I do see what you are talking about. It is hard for me to say what is going on without a side by side of a normal grind, but I see it.
My previous opinion was just that. CRK makes their own decisions. Just always better if you have a problem like that to not fool with it at all, and contact your dealer.

Dealer has none to exchange for and I'm not sure I want to do an outright return. I've had it for a couple months and notice it more and more. I'm not even sure it would be fair to return at this period. I didn't see it at first. The action is the best I've ever had on a small 21 (out of 4) so I'd hate to lose that unless I had to.

I think it would be easier to decide if the blade appears mis-ground if you provided a picture of it on a flat, plain surface. The curved paper with grid lines introduce possible optical illusions.

Can't say if CRK will help now that you've had it a few months but contact them. I would have as soon as I got the blade if I wasn't happy.

I'd contact Josh @razor-edge-knives and see what his turn around time is. He does some fantastic work and can put the edge back to factory finish.
I'd also ask him what I'm doing wrong to get this type of grind with the set up I have.

They will have to sharpen that out or replace it . I have been treated fine by their service department.
But , that knife didnt shipout like that .

Looks off but hard to say without better photos.

But, I agree w/ buckeyejake, it's highly unlikely this went out the door from CRK like this. If the blade really is that far off, someone likely got a hold of it at some point.

My last two (brand-new direct from dealers) Insingos looked like that. I hadn't had an Insingo in years before that so I assumed that the Insingos were always like that (hawkbill like) and I had forgotten. I sold them because of that. I wanted a more wharncliffe/sheepsfoot blade profile and the two I had weren't it.

They have the best qc in the business. What is the date of the knife ?

It's a 2019. Unless ~20 strokes on fine rods on a sharpmaker remove that much of CRK's S35VN, it shipped out like that. They agree based on the pictures I sent them.

Things happen(even to the best) and employees change, but they have always seemed willing to correct their mistakes when they do happen.
Actually that is one thing they have always asked of us-if we have a problem to start with them. If they don't fix it then complain-not directed at the OP. I think he honestly wanted an opinion.

I think Chris Reeve Knives make the best knives in the world. I've owned nearly a dozen throughout the years. This is the first time I've ever had to contact them for something other than a cool lanyard or grease. I'm not mad at all. I know that things slip through.
