i don't know I've seen ones from different comanies that were a lot closer...I mean one a clip point with wave function and an axis clone lock, the other modified srear/drop point, thumbstuds, and monolock...just sayin' seen closer :)
 
Is it Shane Sibert or Andrew Demko who is copying the Emerson pocket hook fast blade deploy thingy.:cool: Which blade is has the axis lock?:eek: Other than the fuller, I don't really see that much similar. Okay both are drop points with a swedge. Big deal. It would be ironic if Cold Steel was the company getting ripped off though. I do see a knife in the original post copying features from at least two other makers, but it is not the benchmade.
 
Wow, two blades with swedges and fullers. No two makers have EVER combined those two features on the same knife :rolleyes:


Sorry, I'm not seeing much of a resemblance here.


Edit: Also, what does this have to do with wilderness and survival skills?

yep, if anything cold steel copied it.

ETA: not saying cold steel did copy it, im just saying that the design has been around long before the CS ak-47 (sorry pit)

I said the cold steel has an axis clone type lock more or less "copied" :rolleyes: from benchmade IMHO (Please,please don't bother saying there not exactly alike I know this and have seen the schimatics of both...close enough, like I said, IMHO) :)

I think we are "on the same side" here. Cold steel "took inspiration" from the axis lock (an maybe a bit more).

sorry pit I didnt meen that cold steel did copy it im just saying that the shane design has been around much longer. personally i dont think they look anything alike.

You mean you can't own up to the fact that you were so anxious to "call someone out" and act superior, that you called the wrong person out, and on a design that is barely similar at all.

Yeah, because I generally only start new threads when I actually have something meaningful to say, instead of trying to puff out my chest and dump on companies, and in a topic that has absolutely zilch to do with wilderness and survival skills.

I've only started a handful of threads here in W&SS, and I try to keep them actually useful, instead of this drivel.

You know, stuff that actually has some bearing on being in the woods, and not trying to trash a company for making a knife with a fuller and a swedge (oh, heavens, no!) when another company ALSO made a knife with a fuller and a swedge (imagine that!)


If you really thought your post had any value, you wouldn't have deleted it. You did so because you got called out for the ridiculousness of it.

Just annoys me when some people offer nothing to the forum discussions other than to try and belittle people.
There is a wine and cheese forum for that. If I have nothing positive to contribute to someones post then I say nothing at all.
No wonder so many are jumping over to other forums !

As a company I have always regarded Benchmade as one of the best, when I saw the knife I posted I was immediatly struck with how similar it looked to the Cold steel one and was hoping someone could maybe shed some constructive light on the subject.If the blades do not look alike then I should book in for an eye test ASAP !

I had also mentioned the new chopper from Benchmade which I thought might interest the people on this forum.

How was I belittling anyone ? Did I make any comments about either products ?:confused:

I'm not really into folders but a local store has the Cold steel product and it had sparked my interest. This was the main reason I was curious when I saw the Benchmade product of which I already own one of their blades !
