I this a real BUCK steak knife

DM never mind on the date 1973 I just saw at the top of your pic....but steel is 440c?

And was 73 the first introduction to Cutlery Sets?

Mule, Yes, all the kitchen sets had steel of 440C until the year date stamping. This model has a nebulous history. Which, I'll merely touch the high points; the maroon micarta handles are from 1973, some of the black handled micarta are from 1972. Then they jump to after 1973. Prior to this set being mfg. with a designated model number the carving knife was given to Buck employees as award knives or at Christmas time as gifts. DM

reply: Nice!

thanks DM for the background history....I was wondering exactly when they debuted those, of course after getting my 1st 110 in 1974 I had "THE BUCK AWAKENING" .....and their LOGO brand name stuck out where & when ever I saw it. Thanks again David for the run down....

Joe H. says they debuted in 1973. I think that date could be conservative. Still, he has 25yrs. of good standing at Buck knives so I'll certainly acquiescence to him. Your welcome, DM
